Yesterday during my prayer time, I saw a vision of an airplane flying upside down. Then I looked again and it was now flying right side up.
I interpreted this to mean a turn around is coming soon. Those who have walked uprightly before God, but have been “upside down” financially, are going to see a quick turn around putting them right side up again. I thought about those who are showing losses in their investment accounts, but it could apply to other circumstances too.
This reminded me of something that happened at my home a couple of months ago. We discovered a bird nest on our front porch. It was strategically positioned up at the inside top corner of the porch about ten feet high and it was full of babies. We felt like proud parents watching over this little bird family.
Then one night when I was letting my dogs out, I was surprised to see one of the babies sitting on the porch right in front of the door, which is about thirty feet from the nest and a long way down. At first I thought he was hurt because it was such a big drop, but then I saw he was fine. He just didn’t know what to do or where to go since this was his first time to leave the nest.
Then I discovered another baby bird nearby in the same condition. After a closer look, I realized nothing bad had happened to them. They had simply reached the age when it was time to leave the nest. I was not sure if they were ready, but their parents apparently decided it was time.
Expecting these little guys to mount up and fly seemed like a tall order, but I don’t think they were not given much choice. Since they were okay, we decided to leave them alone and hoped they would survive through the night. The next morning they were both gone, so hopefully they made it.
Sometimes our heavenly Father pushes us out of our nest, out of our comfort zone, asking us to take a step into a whole new world. The first step out of the nest is a doozy as we watch ourselves free falling and plopping down hard. At times it appears we are going to perish, but like those baby birds we eventually discover we have been equipped with everything we need to fly. The first few flight attempts are not pretty, but with perseverance we eventually get some air under our wings and our confidence begins to grow. Somehow baby birds have been growing up this way for a very long time and it has worked just fine.
I believe the upside down airplane turning right side up indicated flight training will soon be over as we begin to fly upright. Those wings that have felt so awkward are now going to feel the wind lifting us up and carrying us on. Past mistakes will now be our most valuable lessons that will keep us soaring.
