Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
Eagles DON’T wallow and pigs CAN’T fly
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
God gave us scripture that we would learn of Him, His heart for us, His ways and His expectations of mankind. Too, He does not want any of us to be ignorant of and thus taken by surprise, by what is now at the door. If He did not intend that we be aware and warned about the myriad of dangers to our soul (which is His focus), the Bible would contain relatively few chapters and Revelation wouldn’t exist.
God expects us to be vigilant and deliberate about educating ourselves – to be awake and aware. [Proverbs 22:3] Scripture clearly reveals the fact that Satan and his co-conspirators (spirit and human), work diligently to destroy the human race. We must understand that ignorance is dangerous and even deadly, and that a conspiracy is not merely “theory”, when they really ARE trying to kill you. [Matthew 24:22, John 10:10, Revelation 6:1-11, Ephesians 6:12, etc.]
To that end, we should consume information, but we must never “wallow in it”, allowing it to consume us.
That said, we need to be in proper balance. God needs our focus not to be on the who/what/when/where of everything that could possibly take us out, but on the ONLY thing which does matter, and matters greatly, which is what we do in response to His directions, desires and indeed, His commands.
Too, a correct focus is what will determine our Heavenly reward or loss and that which the King will declare to us – EITHER “Well Done!” OR “Depart from me.” [2 Corinthians 5:10]
Remember, Satan and his henchmen (demon and human) are expert at planting seeds, or for that matter, full-grown forests of fear. They know well that it is impossible for fear and despair to co-exist with faith and hope.
“Cultivation”
Time is both at a premium and quickly running out, so it is imperative that we be very intentional in how we allocate and utilize it. Are we sacrificing the time needed to study His word and meditate upon the ways that He has proven Himself as our fortress, deliverer, provider, and strength? Are we determined to cultivate a rock-solid relationship, obeying and trusting Him and His leadership – one from which we cannot be swayed?
We learn “about” God by studying the Bible, that we might have an understanding what He has always desired for and required of mankind. Many have a lot of “book knowledge”, which while imperative to have, never in and of itself saved anyone.
However, while book knowledge tells us about Him, it requires a significant investment of time and effort to cultivate a true, vibrant, spiritually satisfying relationship with Him. God is spirit, a “person” without a body. As is true with any person, we forgo doing other things of personal interest, that we may invest quality one-on-one time spent really discovering who He is, what He needs from us and how to effectively grow our relationship. It is through a relationship with Jesus, that we are saved!
God laments the fact that His people are being destroyed, that it is because they lack knowledge of Him and His ways. This was/is not a scholastic knowledge, it was/is a lack of knowing Him, loving and obeying Him – the “fear of the Lord”. [Psalm 22:23, 25:14]
Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel: for the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
…My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Hosea 4:1, 6
Do we LOVE Him, that we actually enjoy spending time with Him, or is our faith really only requisite religious activity? Do we know and care as much about a relationship with Him, as we do about how our phone or computer apps work?
Let’s fly, for we’re part of God’s “Heir Force”!
Time spent allowing ourselves to be consumed by the things happening around us, is critical time stolen from that which He needs us to be accomplishing.
We must do everything with Godly wisdom, insight, discernment and understanding – being wise as serpents, gentle as doves. No matter how we physically die, let us have made our lives count in His service. Too, we can be assured that it is better to be absent from the body and present with the Lord! [2 Corinthians 5:8]
Like it or not, WE ARE each part of His spiritual earthly army, needed to engage the enemy and “occupy” from the position of His strength. We gain and hold ground for our Commander OR we will be found trembling in a foxhole, popping our head up only to be driven back down, like a game of “Whack a Mole”. Others will go AWOL or desert altogether. [Luke 18:18]
In full sincerity, we must each ask God for clarity of what He needs us to understand and do, that we might spiritually fight the good fight, helping others come to know Him – before it is too late for them…
He has told us not worry for ourselves, for we are in His hands. We must keenly hone this skill now, before war (internal and external enemies), storms, deprivation or anything else, become our regular reality. [Matthew 6:25]
Our focus and our passion must be fully upon our Shepherd or we will stray off the path. For many, this will be to their spiritual destruction. [2 Thessalonians 2:3, Luke 18:8]
Let’s finish strong and hear the coveted words “WELL DONE thou good and faithful servant. …Enter thou into the joy of your Lord!”
Author: Deborah Hartvikson
Deborah launched a previous website in an attempt to wake people up to the destruction to our health, caused by the food, beverages, water and more that we commonly use. God created us as “triune” beings, comprised of three inextricably connected “parts”; these are the body, mind and spirit. Thus, when any part of our being is sick, the health and wellbeing of the entire person is compromised. This ultimately manifests as our spirit being unable to enjoy the level of relationship with God for which we were created. But, in 2015 God told her to shift the focus of the message to warning the Body of Christ to prepare for the coming times. While awareness and physical preparation are important (Proverbs 27:12), if we are to have any hope of standing for and with Jesus through the tribulation and trials that even now are rapidly closing in on us, we must focus on continually growing in our relationship with Him! In July 2020 she was instructed to launch the new website HSBattleship.org (HS standing for Holy Spirit). Posts include articles on genuinely following Christ, dreams and warnings concerning current and soon to come happenings. It is her desire that what she has penned, in response to the leading of the Holy Spirit, will have a significant impact in the lives of others. Our rallying cry must be “So others might live with Jesus forever”!

“Time spent allowing ourselves to be consumed by the things happening around us, is critical time stolen from that which He needs us to be accomplishing”, Deborah, thank you for these words, I am guilty of spending too much time thinking about the things that are coming…the heaviness had almost consumed me, yet, slow as it has been for me to shake things off, I repent and get back up again and spend time with our Lord for clarity, direction, wisdom and strength.
We, the saints can’t go back, there’s still so much more living to do, and many people to witness to, even in the darkest of times. God has promised he will never leave nor forsake me/us and I remember so many times when He walked with me through tough moments.
I yield, surrender and am vulnerable to His will for me, knowing He understands my frailties and quickens my body, mind and spirit to help me fight the good fight of faith.
I am so grateful to you and others who encourage us to remember Who God is and who we are in Him, thank you.
The ONLY way we’ll/I’ll be able to stand is to get back into His presence and allow Him to saturate us with His truth, light, strength and love, knowing “though He slay me, yet, will I trust Him”.
Thank you!
Vaughn,
As odd as it might sound to some, one of my favorite verses is what you quoted Job 13:15. Don’t we all wish we never needed to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and move on?
A few months ago, I was in a situation where I couldn’t manage to climb out of a “pit” that I found myself mired in. I cried out to God and had a flash vision of a grandfatherly looking figure (God the Father), lifting me from under my arms as a father would do, when helping a small child back onto their feet after they’ve fallen on the playground. He then gave me a gentle and playful “swat” on my rump and told me that all is well now – run along… And it was, I was rescued from that pit and off I went!
God’s got us, no matter the situation,
Thank you for your input Brother!
Amen! Thank you for this uplifting message!!🙏
Thank you, Deborah! I really needed this message confirmed in my spirit. I keep telling these things to myself, but I needed someone else to say it, too. I have been guilty of wallowing, but it is hard to know where to draw the line. I want to shut down every voice but the Lord, but thoughts of what about this or what about that or keep track of this keep intruding. There was a Christian song a good many years back now that went something like, “…too many voices, noises, choices….” . Jesus said the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth and will teach us of things to come. Again, thank you, Deborah!
Hey Stacey,
I sure know what you mean. Back when “Operation Jade Helm” was the big thing on all of the prophecy websites, I became the equivalent of a “prophecy chaser” (think storm or ambulance chaser).
What that brought was deep fear and despair, thinking that at any moment someone was going to batter down my door and drag me off to a FEMA camp (which may happen yet, but I’m not afraid anymore). Satan had a great laugh at my expense, as the fear grew into a writhing thing inside of me that wouldn’t even let me sleep.
As is Satan’s plan for all of us, when I was constantly worrying, my focus was drawn way off base, away from the Lord.
Even so, the Lord kept speaking until He got my attention and He pointed out that this was not only an obsession/addiction, it was really idolatry. He directed me to stop looking at some of the sites which are truly “fear-porn”, with virtually no mention of God and what He is doing in and through His people in this hour.
I’m so appreciate your comment and am glad that the article was a blessing!
Keep on, keeping on Sister!
Wow…I think I needed to hear this. All of the dire prophecies lately warning of chaos coming soon have had me really anxious. Definitely time to step away and refocus. Thanks for sharing!
I’m so glad that this helped Kristin. Sometimes a prophecy furlough is in order when we begin to feel this way.
Be blessed fellow daughter of the Most High!
Amen Hallelujah Praise God
Thanks Deborah. Timely word!
Great word, no wallowing… No time for self pity!
Let us slough off all our self pity and despair, and start getting ready for the Lord, to be workers in the greatest move of the Lord to come… on the horizon! Look up not around and down
Amen to that May!
