But my servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit and has followed me fully, I will bring into the land into which he went, and his descendants shall possess it. (Numbers 14:24 ESV)
There is a generation of men and women who have been willing to contend for their inheritance, even as many around them have wandered in the wilderness. It is these who carry the spirit of Caleb that are destined to lead the charge into our prophetic promises!
When the nation of Israel first came to the Promised Land, it was only Joshua and Caleb who had the faith to go in and take out the giants. But, due to majority rule that was void of faith, they wandered for forty more years. But, God eventually rewarded Joshua and Caleb by putting Joshua in charge of the nation and granting Caleb his promise. Given a second chance at the age of eighty-five, Caleb was determined to finish the assignment he was given:
I am still as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me; my strength now is as my strength was then, for war and for going and coming. So now give me this hill country of which the Lord spoke on that day. (Joshua 14:11-12)
Though Caleb saw many of his people waste away and fall in the desert, he did not waiver in God’s promise. He was determined to complete the mission, regardless of the circumstances. When the opportunity came again, he was ready to pick up where he left off and finish the job. God granted his request and Caleb not only took out the enemies of God, but received his inheritance.
This is the spirit of those who are not deterred by age or the passing of time. This is the spirit that a generation in the Body of Christ now possess. They are the ones who have persevered through the trials and taken a stand when others around them have fallen away. These are the ones who have kept the faith and are ready to go into enemy territory, displace ungodly rulers, and establish their Kingdom heritage.
Though the world may deem some of the older saints past their prime, God sees the spirit that many still carry. This is not about biological age, but zeal of the heart. For those of you who are “older” with eyes to see the promises of God fulfilled, you also have the grace to go in and receive them! To those who yet carry the zeal of the Lord in your bones, do not let the failures of others distract or dishearten you. Do not let time dictate what you can and cannot do. It is by the grace of God that you live and move and have your being. There is a supernatural grace and favor of the Lord to “go in” and do war against the enemies of God and possess your inheritance and your legacy.
We are at the entrance to our Promised Land. As a new generation has been prepared to go in and establish Kingdom rule, so has the Lord prepared those with the spirit of Caleb to complete their assignment. The testing in the wilderness has only sharpened your spirit and reinforced your resolve. To you, the Lord says, “It’s time to go in and see what I will do! It’s time to go in and possess your promise!”
I had an amazing weekend in Lake Mills, Iowa at Word of Faith Dominion Church for a Women’s Sword to Scepter Conference. I did 3 sessions on Saturday and spoke again on Sunday morning. You can watch all 4 messages on YouTube. I’ve put the links below so you can take the time to dig in to the topics I presented (men – the messages can apply to you, as well!)
SESSION 1: “OVERCOMING AUTHORITY” – Ezekiel was a prophet who had a history with God. Before he came to that Valley of Dry Bones, he had been tested many times – and had proven himself to be faithful. As a result, God gave him increased authority to bring an army to life. What’s YOUR history with God?
SESSION 2: LEARN TO RULE WITH THE SCEPTER – We have been taught to fight with the sword of the Lord to destroy God’s enemies. But there is a hidden authority when we learn how to use the scepter.
SESSION 3: DISCERNING THE TRUTH AND SANCTIFYING OUR EMOTIONS – Seven principles of discernment, the gift of discerning of spirits, and being “feelers” in the spirit.
SUNDAY MORNING MESSAGE: FREEDOM FROM RELIGIOUS AND POLITICAL SPIRITS – I take the entire congregation through prayers of renunciation and declarations of truth to demonstrate how we can gain corporate authority in defeating principalities in our regions.
I’ll be in Houston, Texas this weekend – April 8-10 – for another women’s conference hosted by Celebration Women’s Ministry. If you’d like to catch the livestream, CLICK HERE:
