Can these bones live? I just really feel like this is the word of the Lord in this season. These are like the days of Ezekiel when the Lord is breathing upon the dry bones. He’s breathing upon loss. He’s breathing upon things that look shattered.
When Ezekiel went down into the valley of dry bones, it says the Spirit of the Lord was upon him and took him down into the valley (Ezekiel 37). Valleys represent times of trial, times of hardship, times of crisis, times of battle, and that is where Ezekiel found the dry bones. When we go through valleys in our life, sometimes things die. Sometimes our hope dies, our faith dies. Sometimes promises die. Sometimes circumstances happen tragically, things just go wrong in our life. Sometimes things are out of our control and sometimes they are in our control, but regardless of whether they are in or out of our control, the Lord is saying, whatever has been lost in those valleys and wherever there has been trauma or grief or sorrow and death, the Lord says He is coming in this season and He is breathing upon those dry bones.
He asked Ezekiel, “Can these dry bones live?”
First, before he breathes on the dry bones, He is wanting to restore and reconnect and realign faith in our heart. And He is asking, “Can these dry bones live? ”
Ezekiel looked at the bones and saw they were not only dry, but very dry. Likewise, Lazarus had been in his tomb four days. He was not only dead, but very dead. So I just really feel this is the season where God is going to the place of the impossible. He is delighting to show Himself strong in behalf of His people.
The Lord is saying in this hour He is going to avenge for your cause. Whatever it is where the enemy has come and there has been wrong done to you, the Lord is coming as the avenger. He is turning the tables and He is making every wrong right. He is restoring. He is repairing. He is recompensing. He is rewarding.
When God recompenses, it means he compensates, so he compensates for loss. In place of the affliction that you have wondered why, like Mary and Martha wondered why Jesus took so long to come, but when Jesus heard the news about Lazarus, He said, ““This sickness is not to end in death, but for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified by it.” (John 11:4)
So the Lord was speaking the end from the beginning in that situation. He did not say Lazarus was not going to die, but He said it was not going to end there. And I just really feel like the Lord is saying to you, “Yes, things have happened, but it is not over. It is not the end because God is a God of vengeance and He is a God of recompense and He is coming to restore, recover, redeem, and repay. And He is going to turn the tables in your life in this season. This is the season when He is coming as the avenger.
