The Lord gave me this word for today, July 9 2016, as I finished working on a message entitled “The Box.”
“Tell the people a deception is here, and an even greater one is coming, and many are not prepared. They do not spend enough time with Me, so they cannot see the deception, nor will they see an even greater deception coming. Tell My people to come back to me, and stay in My word. Time is running out.”
Here is the message:
And Jesus said unto them, “Take Heed and let no man deceive you.” (Matthew 24:4)
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” (Matthew 24:24)
As I have pondered and studied the American citizens, and many in the west, but mainly the Americans, and especially those who call themselves Christian, I have come to a Biblical conclusion, which is quite simple, but the prophetic aftermath is quite devastating. What is the conclusion I have come to understand? Many Americans have a fascination and love for “The Box,” while their entire lives revolve around worshiping the box.
The box has become our god now, and the real God has been replaced by the box. Jesus has been replaced by the box. The Holy Spirit has been replaced by the box. People even go as far to try and make God, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit worship and conform to the box. People worship the box so much that when they wake up, the first thing they do is look at the box and the last thing they do before the go to bed is look at the box.
It used to be Christians would give God praise and pray to Him upon waking. They would acknowledge the blessing of life and would do the same before they go to bed at night. Now when they wake up, they gravitate to the box. They pick up a box to turn on a box, just to grab a mini box, and start their day being programmed by the box. They step into the shower with the box, hoping not to miss any commandments and teachings from the box. As they get dressed, while watching the box and getting persuaded by the box, they pick up their mini-box, share what the box has taught them, all the while being in a rush to leave the box, just to get to another box that drives them to a box that has another box that has a mini-box attached to it with even more mini-boxes filled with 26 letters, 10 numerical values, and a multitude of symbols, which must be pressed down to operate the box. Then they come home to train their children how to worship the box, which they have been doing since birth.
Most of their day is spent arguing and discussing what the box indoctrinated them with. They will go to war for the box because the box told them to go. They will miss meals just to please the box. They only believe what the box tells them to believe. They come to church to talk about the box and how the box loves them because the box gives them everything they think they need.
They put everything in the box. They put God, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit in the box. Churches put limits on God by placing him in the box. They quiet and stop The Holy Spirit by placing Him in the box while requiring their members to give money to the box. They do all of these things because they are afraid they will lose the box and won’t be able to pay for the box.
The box has made people zombies. The box says I will define sin. The box says I am God. The box watches their every move. The box can make them feel happy and sad. The box can make them feel like a game show contestant, a talk show host, judge, jury, porn star, or anything the box has them believe they can be.
Instead of reading the Bible, they read and watch the box. Instead of trusting the Bible, they trust the box. Instead of listening to God, and the Holy Spirit, they listen to the box. Instead of witnessing to people about Jesus and repentance, the box witnesses to them, only for them to witness to others about the commandments and teachings of the box. Instead of fasting and praying, they feed themselves with the box. They can study and memorize the teachings of the box, but they can’t study and memorize the teachings of the Bible. They try to gain wisdom and understanding from the box, but refuse to gain wisdom and understanding from the Bible. To them, the box is the new bible. They must be in front of the box at a certain time to please the box, yet they can’t be in front of the word God to please The Most High God. When the box stops talking, they get angry, scared, and panicky, for fear of disappointing the box.
Our cities have become a box. Our communities have become a box. Our society has become a box. Our lifestyles have become a box. Everything is modeled after the box. And as people conform to the box, they never realize the box wants them to be put in a box, so they can be controlled until the the day they are put in the ultimate box, six feet under ground, just to meet the one entity they spent their lifetime trying to place in a box when all He ever wanted was for them to come out of the box and into His kingdom.
Don’t let the box defeat you. Get into the word of God. Pray and fast like never before. We are at an unprecedented time in history. America is the midst of God’s judgment. We need to be reaching out to souls, instead of reaching out for the box. You can’t put God in a box, for He has all power, so stop trying. It’s time for churches to start allowing the Holy Spirit to come back into their churches and for church leaders to start speaking the word of God.
Many of us are spiritually weak because we are afraid of not pleasing the box. We lack skills the Bible tells us we need because the box told us we were doing fine without them. Many people can’t cook, clean, or even work with their hands because they listened to the box. Church folks are lacking valuable skills needed to wage war against Satan’s kingdom. Our society is crumbling because of sin and no one is making us sin; it is our choice. Yet the box accelerates, exacerbates, and accommodates the crumbling of our society. We are too easily deceived by the box. Yes everything on TV or the Internet is not bad, but if your life revolves around the box, then you are the one in the box.

Sadly, quite a bit of people think because we are living in the last days, and America is under judgment, they can’t have wholesome fun. They can’t laugh or smile. Too many are having too much fun, so they aren’t ready for what’s ahead. It’s all about balance.
Thanks Matt!! Profound word as usual! I am reading this to my whole family at dinner tonight!! We just recently had an emergency family meeting last month because I had a dream Satan came to our door dressed in grim reaper clothing. He rang the door bell and we let him in unknowingly. After he was inside and I realized who he was, I commanded him to leave in Jesus name and he stubbornly jumped into an open laptop nearby and disappeared! This dream freaked us all out! The amount of computer time over the summer was killing our spirits and separating us from God unknowingly! We had to repent and aggressively take action! It takes hostile violence to fight against the box in our culture and we must declare war on anything that tries to separates us from the love of God!!
When I first got saved, I went cold turkey on TV for a couple of months. All I did was read my bible, and practice music. I slowly picked it back up, then I am at the point now the only time I watch tv is when I watch cooking show, while dinners cooking, and to catch up on the news while eating breakfast before work.

Jeff…..there are MANY voices out there claiming Jesus does NOT share Mary’s DNA; therefore He did not come in the flesh. These individuals have some great teaching points but I believe have been misled and are misleading others. Your thoughts?
I’m not Jeff, but Isaiah says this:
“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
And Matthew says this:
“But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.”
And Luke says this:
“And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.”

Hey Sarah. I’m with you on being careful who you listen to. The Lord did not share Mary’s DNA. Her DNA is just as corrupted as mine. But of course he came in the flesh. One of my favorite verses. ‘And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt amongst us…’ In John 1
Jane NZ…in order to be “of the seed of David” the Lord would have to take on the human DNA provided by Mary, who was of the lineage of David. I believe Jesus to be fully man and fully God.
Yes Sarah. Of the seed of David and fully man and fully God. I don’t think anyone could adequately explain the immaculate conception. Jesus appeared on the earth before he was conceived in Mary. Genesis 18:33; 32:24-30; Josh 5:13-15 and in other places. He has always existed. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God……in John 1

I try to tell my brothers and sisters in my small group and they to ignore me. My family laughs at me and my church elders will not entertain the idea that America is being deceived. Yes Sir!!! This is so true. One if the major strongholds, as a nation, is addictions. If we are not willing to acknowledge that there are strongholds, the battle is lost before it has even started.
We let so much unseen filth into our homes without realizing it through the box. I cannot be in hearing distance of the sarcasm, rudeness of the “familly” shows and the pride that is bursting out of people’s mouth’s constantly.
It is very sad for the actors that have to play parts that are sinful, unless they are doing it for a spiritual purpose. Just recently I prayed for all actors to repent of this. Also, all extras or anyone who had any part in making a Biblical movie that the Lord would wake them up to the fact that it was all true. Jesus from the Passion has such a great testimony.
I could go on and on. The men especially are captivated by sports and so many cool things we can now experience through the internet.
About 10 years ago someone told me they never listen to the radio in their car, or watch the news b/c it drowned out what the Lord wanted to tell them. I have been doing this for years and it has paid off greatly. I do of course now keep up with what is happening that we need to be praying for, but do not dwell on it. We need to be keeping him as our focus, we will be overwhelmed.
Matt … so true, sobering and very convicting. I don’t watch TV programs, but I do take the news to bed with me, via my smart phone, and I rise in the morning with it also. My TV is used for listening and watching preachers through a box called Roku. I am saddened when I see this world and, so called Christians, living for their entertainment on TV or other boxes. Almost everyone I know has believed the lie and deception of the enemy. It grieves my heart because I know it grieves God’s heart. Thank you Matt for relaying the message. It is powerful. The deception that is currently being played out is pretty easy to see for those who have discernment and listen to the still small voice of the Lord. He should not have to shout it to us. If we do spent intimate time with Him, He will speak and give us wisdom and discernment. Distraction will draw us away from hearing His voice. Time is short. We need to remove the enemy’s distractions and be devoted to our Lord and Savior.
James Dobson said years ago that even if one is watching “Christian” television all day, is still is not good for you. (I can’t stand the lies).

I believe all of us on this forum can affirm these words! The boxes constantly drawing our attention away from the things of God.
And the deception of it all. I’m finding myself pulling away from all the boxes more and more every day. We need to limit the input of the other voices out there, focusing instead on the voice of the Lord our God. It’s the only way we can receive all He has for us in this late hour.

Matt, great words brother. We are all guilty of being a slave to a box in one way or another.
Lord help us all to be under your will for our lives and open our eyes and ears so we can see and hear all the boxes that we have put before you in our lives. Lord we know you love us, but help us to understand what that really means .

My kids and I do not have TV. We take the time to read Gods word as a family and pray. We have not had TV for 8 months. I don’t miss it at all.
This dawned on me 6 or 7 months ago. I don’t know if you saw the movie: Batman Forever, but in it, a villain (the Riddler) uses a device referred to and marketed as “the box” to infiltrate and actually control the minds of people who use it. The technology was praised by everyone who experienced it, all the while something was given as well as taken from the viewers. This has come to pass in real life. The Internet, along with an infrastructure of millions of small, mobile cameras; a 24 hour news cycle and social media apparatus that feeds off of and enhances the dissemination of any and all information instantly: any event, every experience, every question, from anyone, anywhere… and like a dog returning to its own vomit, again and again, only resolves itself in its submission to the next wave.
I am reminded of Babel… yes, this is the spirit of Babel.
