- The consequences of this famine will further exacerbate the dire situation brought on by war and conflict.
“The third seal reveals a rider on a black horse representing famine and scarcity. A voice announces that basic essentials will become scarce and expensive. This indicates a severe economic crisis where basic necessities become unaffordable for many.”
The Fourth Seal
- The fourth seal introduces a pale horse, ridden by a figure named Death accompanied by Hades.
- This imagery signifies death and destruction that will befall a fourth of the earth through various means: sword, famine, pestilence, and wild beasts.
- The fourth horseman brings widespread devastation and death, leaving the world reeling in the face of overwhelming calamities.

Human Condition and Response
- In Revelation 6:15-17, the powerful and common people react to the events before them by trying to hide from the wrath of the lamb and the day of his wrath.
- Despite their acknowledgement of God’s existence and authority, they resist repentance and prefer to face the wrath of an avalanche rather than God’s righteous judgment.
- Mere awareness of God’s sovereignty does not automatically lead to genuine faith or repentance.
“In Revelation 6:15-17, the kings, nobles, and every other person, both powerful and common, try to hide from the wrath of the lamb and the day of his wrath. Their response is one of desperation, imploring the mountains to crumble upon them. They would rather face the wrath of an avalanche than bear the full weight of God’s righteous judgment.”
The Problem of Sin
- Sin can be pleasurable and lead people to fall in love with it.
- Many people reject God and His word because they are in love with the pleasure of sin.
- The world is moving closer to becoming like the people described in Revelation 6:15-17, with hardened hearts towards goodness and the gospel message.
“Some Christians attempt to paint the picture that there is no pleasure or allure in sin, but that is a lie. Sin can take you to such a pleasurable place, where you know it goes against the word of God, and yet you carry on doing it because you love your sin and it brings you pleasure. Many people find themselves in that boat, knowing God is real but not turning to Him because they are in love with the pleasure of sin.”

The identity of the King of the locusts
- John’s vision reveals that the locusts are not leaderless, but ruled by a king.
- The king is referred to as Abdon in Hebrew and Apolyon in Greek.
- The identity of this king is debated among scholars.
- Some believe it is Satan, while others think it is an angel serving under Satan.
- Apolyon is not synonymous with Satan, as Apolyon is confined to the bottomless pit.
“John’s vision reveals that the locusts are ruled by a king known as Apolyon, who is not identical to Satan and is confined to the bottomless pit.”
Understanding Apolyon’s role

- He is distinct from Satan, who is depicted as freely roaming the Earth.
- Apolyon is one of the chief angels serving under Satan, awaiting his liberation.
- Apolyon’s impending role and destructive power are emphasized in the narrative.
- Reflecting on Apolyon’s identity and confinement prompts contemplation of the Divine narrative and the destruction he will bring.

Apolyon as the leader of demonic entities
- Apolyon leads legions of evil spirits manifested as locusts in Satan’s army.
- There is a hierarchy of evil spirits, similar to the hierarchy of angels in heaven.
- While Apolyon’s power is serious, it is crucial to recognize that only the Lord is truly Almighty.
- There are alternative interpretations, such as the locusts symbolizing modern military vehicles or warfare technology.
- However, the majority of Bible scholars view the locusts as demons or evil spirits.
“Apolyon leads legions of demonic entities in Satan’s army, reflecting a hierarchy of evil spirits. The locusts are widely interpreted as demons or evil spirits.”

- These witnesses played a significant role in proclaiming God’s message and warning against disobedience.

Moses and Elijah as the Two Witnesses
- Moses and Elijah appear alongside Jesus, indicating their significant role in the New Testament.
- The presence of Moses and Elijah provides a compelling argument for their roles as the two witnesses.
- Support for Elijah being one of the witnesses comes from Malachi 4:5 and 6, which prophesies Elijah’s return before the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
- Elijah’s Ascension to heaven without experiencing death and the nature of his miracles align with the characteristics of the witness described in Revelation.
- Moses is another likely candidate for one of the witnesses, as he appeared alongside Elijah during the Transfiguration and performed significant miracles in Egypt, similar to the acts described in Revelation.
- The safeguarding of Moses’ body, mentioned in Jude 1:9, adds to the intrigue surrounding his potential role.
- It is important to note that our understanding of their identities is speculative, as only God knows their true identities.

Empowerment and Service in God’s Kingdom
- The selection of the two witnesses showcases God’s preference for the seemingly weak and unassuming to fulfill his will.
- Throughout Scripture, God often chooses the foolish or weak to accomplish his purposes, revealing his power and glory.
- In accordance with this pattern, the two witnesses are not chosen for their inherent strength or capability but for their willingness to be used by God.
- God provides the necessary power and ability to those who are ready to serve, often in ways that defy human expectations or standards.
“God often chooses the foolish or weak to accomplish his purposes, showcasing his power and Glory.”
“It is not one’s inherent strength or capability that matters, but being open and willing to be used by God.”
The Power and Mission of the Two Witnesses
- The two witnesses will have a power unparalleled in history as they undertake their mission with a divine authority.
- Their sermons will surpass the impact of any sermon encountered before, both in depth and power.
- Grounded in truth and divine revelation, their messages will challenge and confront the prevailing attitudes of the world.

- People’s affinity for darkness and sin presents a compelling temptation that many find irresistible.
- The love for sin is one of the primary reasons individuals reject the Gospel, even when they recognize its truth.
- Embracing the Gospel requires a significant shift and entails stepping out of the darkness and into the light of Christ.
- The commitment to change and leaving behind familiar patterns and behaviors can be daunting for many.

- This kind of power goes beyond human understanding and capability; it is a divine power that renders the seemingly impossible possible.
- The two witnesses mentioned in the Book of Revelation also have this remarkable power to control natural elements, such as rain, demonstrating their divine appointment.
- The ability to command the weather points directly to the sovereignty of God and validates their testimony of Jesus as the Son of God who died and rose again.
“This kind of power, which transcends human understanding and capability, is not commonly bestowed. It is a divine power that renders the seemingly impossible possible.”
The Existence of a Spiritual Realm
- The Bible acknowledges the existence of a spiritual realm that is invisible to human sight.
- This realm includes both benevolent entities like God and the Holy Angels, and malevolent ones like the devil and his demons.
- These demonic forces actively influence our world today.

Contrary to this belief, the Bible clearly acknowledges the existence of a spiritual realm invisible to human sight.”
The Mark of the Beast
- In the Book of Revelation, there is mention of the mark of the beast, 666.

While many have heard of this mark, its significance and the reason why these entities desire its acceptance by Earth’s inhabitants are not widely understood.”
Identifying the Antichrist
- One key sign for identifying the Antichrist is the call for global adoration and self-deification.
- The Antichrist will be a man who persuades the world to worship him and insists on being regarded as a god.
“To truly recognize the Antichrist, look for a man who persuades the world to worship him, a man who insists on being regarded as a god. This call for global adoration and self-deification will be a defining characteristic of the antichrist’s emergence.”
The Fall of Lucifer
- The fall of Lucifer is crucial to understanding the ongoing spiritual struggle.
- Isaiah 14:12-14 describes how Lucifer, once a high-ranking angel, desired to ascend into heaven, exalt his throne above the stars of God, sit upon the Mount of the congregation, ascend above the heights of the clouds, and be like the most high.
- This sinful desire for worship led to Lucifer’s downfall and the introduction of rebellion and evil into God’s previously unblemished creation.
“The fall of Lucifer is crucial to comprehending the ongoing spiritual struggle. Isaiah observed the downfall of Lucifer, who desired to be exalted and worshiped like the most high. This sin disrupted the perfect harmony and order of the celestial realm, introducing rebellion and evil into God’s creation.”
The Five “I Will”s of Satan
- The five “I will”s of Satan reveal the core of Lucifer’s nature and desire for worship.
- Satan’s declarations encompass his rebellion, disobedience, self-sufficiency, pride, and voracious desire for worship.
- These five statements highlight his most fundamental desire – worship.

Temptations Faced by Jesus
- Jesus faced three distinct temptations presented by the devil.
- The first temptation challenged Jesus to transform stones into bread.
- Satan’s challenge was based on Jesus’ identity as the Son of God.

The Three Angels and Their Messages
- John receives a vision of three angels flying in the sky, each carrying a different message.
- These angels are special angels sent by God to deliver a crucial message to the people on Earth.
- The first angel proclaims the everlasting gospel, calling all people to fear and worship God.
“The wonderful thing is that this angel will fly close enough to the Earth to be seen and heard by all of humanity.”
The Call to Fear God
- The first two words this angel proclaims are “fear God,” highlighting the lack of fear of the Lord in our world today.
- The fear of the Lord is necessary to keep us from sin and rebellion against God.
“The truth is if you do not hate evil, you do not fear God.”
The Message of Judgment and Worship
- The angel reminds the inhabitants of the earth of the coming judgment and instructs them to worship and fear the Lord.
- The angel calls all people to recognize God as the creator of the universe and the one who deserves our worship and obedience.
“The first Angel’s message is not only a call to worship and fear God but also an invitation to receive the salvation that comes through faith in Jesus Christ.”
The Salvation Through Faith in Jesus
- The call to fear the Lord is a call to obey Him, shun sin, and walk in His will.
- The judgment and evident turmoil on Earth during this time of the Great Tribulation will lead many to come to know Christ as Savior.
“Because the judgment of God is so evident on the Earth during this time, a great multitude will come to know Christ as Savior.”
The Fall of Babylon
- The second Angel announces the fall of Babylon, which symbolically represents the corrupt systems of the world.
- Babylon refers to the world system of the Antichrist, including the entire economic and political organization under his rule.
- These systems are known to oppose the will of God.
- Babylon’s downfall in Revelation does not signify the end of the Great Tribulation but is an announcement of its future destruction.
“Babylon is Fallen, is Fallen, that great City. Because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”
The Impending Fall of Babylon
- The various pronouncements in the 18th chapter of Revelation are not necessarily records of completed events, but rather indications that the events are impending.
- The fall of Babylon, representing the ungodly and sinful nature of the world, is destined for destruction.
- Revelation 14:8 indicates that its demise will result in double destruction, both in the present world and in the world to come.
“The event of the fall of Babylon is impending and we will see its actual fall later in the Book of Revelation.”
The Warning against Worshiping the Beast
- The third Angel pronounces the wrath of God upon those who have rejected Him and worshipped the Beast.
- Taking the mark of the Beast is a symbol of allegiance to the Antichrist and the systems of the world opposed to God.
- Those who take the Mark will face the full wrath of God, being tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the Holy Angels and the Lamb.
- The prophecy of the third Angel is a warning of the consequences of turning away from God and taking the mark of the Beast.
“If anyone worships the Beast and His Image and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God.”
The Urgency of the Warning
- The imagery of the three angels physically flying in the sky is meant to emphasize the urgency and importance of their message.
- The sight of these celestial messengers is something that has never been witnessed before, capturing the attention of the world in chaos under the rule of the Antichrist.
- The angels’ appearance is both surreal and tangible, highlighting the significance of their proclamation.
“Imagine the atmosphere of that moment, the world in chaos under the rule of the Antichrist, and these three Angels appear in the sky, a sight never before seen in human history.”
The Power of Deception
- Some individuals, even in the face of miraculous events such as the appearance of angels, still choose the path of the Beast.
- The potential reactions of those witnessing these celestial messengers raise questions about what leads someone to reject the gospel and embrace the mark of the Beast.
- It may be due to fear, desperation, a deep-rooted rebellion against God, or the potent power of deception wielded by the Antichrist and his Prophet.
“What leads someone to still choose the path of the Beast? Is it fear, desperation, or a deep-rooted rebellion against God? Perhaps it’s a testament to the power of deception wielded by the Antichrist and his Prophet.”
God’s Mercy and the Choice to Reject
- The appearance of the three angels is not only a warning but also a demonstration of God’s mercy.
- Even in the darkest of times, God offers salvation and a chance for repentance.
- It serves as a powerful reminder that no matter how far humanity strays, the opportunity for redemption remains until the very end.
- The sobering thought is that some people may still choose to reject this final plea for repentance, despite witnessing such inspiring events.
“It’s a powerful reminder that no matter how far Humanity strays, the opportunity for Redemption remains until the very end. However, the choice to reject this final plea even after witnessing such an inspiring event is a sobering thought.”
Origin and Nature of the Demonic Spirits
- The three demon spirits described in Revelation 16:13-14 originate from the mouths of the Dragon, the Beast, and the false prophet.
- These spirits symbolize profound evil and deception, representing the ultimate forces of evil depicted in biblical prophecy.
- They are metaphorically depicted as frogs, evoking a sense of repulsion and uncleanness, reflecting their morally and spiritually corrupt nature.
- The comparison to frogs also ties back to the plagues of Egypt, emphasizing their disruptive and judgmental role in the end times scenario.
- These demonic spirits possess the ability to perform miraculous signs, which echo the deceptive powers often attributed to demonic forces in Christian theology.
“The three demon spirits in Revelation are symbolic representations of profound evil and deception. Their emergence from specific sources underlines their deep connection with the ultimate forces of evil depicted in biblical prophecy.”
Role of Deception and Miracles
- The purpose of the demonic spirits’ miraculous signs is not for edification or spiritual growth but for deception and leading people away from the truth.
- Evil often mimics the divine to mislead and entice humanity away from God.
- Seeking signs and wonders should be avoided, as the devil and his demons can perform lying wonders according to the Bible.
“One of the devil’s primary methods of deception is signs and wonders. As children of God, we should not seek signs and wonders, as they can be performed by the devil and his demons, described as lying wonders in the Bible.”

“13-4 is not the only instance where the devil uses signs and wonders as his tool of deception if we look at the record of the beast from the sea who is the Antichrist and the Beast from the earth who is the false prophet we see that they too perform signs and wonders to deceive people.” – Lion of Judah
