On 5/19/2021 I heard the Holy Spirit say “YOU HAVE TO COME HOME.” End of word.
Even though I did not understand the meaning of the message, it was very much on my mind. That is probably why on 5/21, as I searched for something watch, a movie called “Homestate” caught my eye.
“Homestate” is about a man named Josh, who left his family to go stay with his sister, Crystal, for a week. It showed him sneaking out of his house with only a knapsack as he embarked on his journey on foot. When he arrived at his sister’s house, the sister’s husband, Harvey, was suspicious of his motives while the daughter, Pearl, was happy that he came.
The “Homestate” movie is free on YouTube at:
So a few minutes into the movie, there was a scene where Harvey, a custom mailbox builder, presented a bid for a new mailbox to a couple from his church. He asked the couple how far off was the winning bid from his. The wife answered, “Almost $300 less.”
Whoa! I almost fell off my chair.
You see, that is what I heard in a vision that the Lord gave me on 5/20/2021. In the vision, I saw a man talking to another person on the phone and he said “IT’S $300 OFF”. So naturally I grabbed my journal to confirm. Suddenly the movie became a lot more interesting to me.
Then there was a scene where Josh cut his hand on a lawn mower. That rang a bell too. So I flipped back through my journal to 5/12/2021. It said (Vision) “I saw blood appear on my palm. I took a Kleenex and wiped it away”.
A one point in the movie I saw a close up of Josh’s satchel – light brown leather with a buckle. That was the exact same satchel I saw in a vision on 5/20/2021!
At the halfway point, Josh agreed to pick up the daughter from a horse stable at 3 PM, but he was so late that she ended up walking home. His sister confronted him by saying “You were supposed to pick her up at 3:00.”
Another AHA moment!
Quickly I started flipping through my journal again. There it was – a vision that the Lord gave me on 7/16/2020. It said: “I drove a long way to get some place. I arrived at 3:30 PM but I was 30 minutes late. Saw a guy locking the door.”
At this point I knew the Lord wanted me to watch this movie for a reason. There was a deeper meaning, a spiritual one. Here is what I believe the Lord wants me to point out.
First, Josh left his family behind (girlfriend and newborn baby) and headed out on foot with only a knapsack on his back. What popped into my mind was the servant of God/member of 144K forsaking everything to chase after Jesus.
Interestingly, Josh went to visit his sister. In the bible, a “sister” is anyone who does the will of the Father and is not necessarily a blood relation. When Jesus sent out his disciples, he sent them to lost sheep of Israel.
The sister’s husband, Harvey, was in a very backslidden state, racking up sin upon sin. A little adultery, some drug use, merchandising at church, a lie here or there; you name it, he was into it. He certainly qualified as a “lost sheep”.
The family decided to lodge Josh in a camper in the backyard. In one scene, the daughter, Pearl, connected an extension cord from the camper to the house so that the camper would have power. As she connected the plug, she announced “NOW YOU HAVE POWER”.
Whoa! That scene made me think of the disciples in Acts 2 who received power from on high.
In another scene, Pearl asked Josh to join her in her treehouse to play games. That reminded me of a vision the Lord gave me on 1/18/2021. In the vision, I saw Bill Rancic and his son, Duke, in a treehouse building something together.
Do you remember Bill Rancic? He was the first person to win on the TV show “The Apprentice”. Later he married Giuliana, the Entertainment Tonight Host, and they had Duke.
Anyway, the fact that a father and son were building together in a treehouse is significant. A “treehouse” represents coming up higher and seeing things from God’s perspective or having the mind of Christ. It reminded me of Revelation 11:12 where it says “Come up here”.
Isn’t it interesting that the servants of God were called “TREES of righteousness” in Isaiah 61. And don’t you just love what the blind man said he saw right after Jesus healed him in Mark 8:22? He said “I see MEN LIKE TREES, walking.” Could he have been referring to Jesus’ disciples?
Here is something else that I thought was interesting. At one point in the movie, Josh walked Pearl to school. She told him that in order to not get lost going to or from school, he needed to look for the red mailbox. Apparently it was the only one like it in the neighborhood. So it was a landmark that would point him in the right direction.
That scene really resonated with me since the Lord has been giving me numerous “mailbox” dreams and visions lately. Mailboxes hold mail that is “sent”. In the same way Jesus “sent” out his disciples. And didn’t Isaiah say to the Lord “Send me”?
And finally I thought about Isaiah 55:11 where God talks about the Word that is “sent”. It says “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and returns not there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing FOR WHICH I SENT IT. 12 For you shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” Of course, He is talking about the servants of God in that passage.
One memorable scene in the movie was when Josh abruptly left his sister’s house. Pearl, the daughter, was devastated. Angrily she told her mom that “He’s a really good Dad”.
Now in actuality Josh was Pearl’s uncle. But Josh seemed more like a dad to her because talked to her and spent time with her, unlike her actual father.
That reminded me of Ruth 4:17 when the neighbor women said to Naomi: “There is a son born to Naomi!” Now did Naomi actually give birth to the baby? No, Ruth was his mom. So why did they say that? Could it be that the baby was her “spiritual son”? Likewise, Josh was Pearl’s “spiritual father”.
Why is this significant? Well, when the servants of God forsake everything and are sent to the lost sheep of Israel, they will form new relationships and new families. The servants will become “spiritual fathers or mothers” to those they are sent to help. Perhaps that it why it says “Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For MORE ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE DESOLATE than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD.
Another meaningful scene was when Pearl drew a picture of a rainbow and stuck it on the side of Josh’s camper. According to Genesis 9:13 and Genesis 9:17, the rainbow symbolizes the COVENANT of God with His people. Amazingly, Isaiah 42:6-7 and Isaiah 49:8-9 refer to the Servant of God being given as a COVENANT to the people!
Probably the most interesting scene in the movie is where Josh exposes Harvey’s sin to Harvey. Amazingly, he didn’t even have to use words. Nope. He just dropped a map on his lap disclosing the location of Harvey’s secret rendezvous with his mistress.
That scene practically shouted Ephesians 5 to me where it says “expose the darkness”. After that, it appeared that Harvey had a change of heart.
During Josh’s visit, he attended a weekly support group for Christian men. On one occasion the group took up collection to help Josh and his baby. That scene reminded me of Acts 4:34-35.
The very last thing that struck me as significant was the final scene of the movie where I saw Josh at the bus station walking towards a bus. The Lord has been speaking to me about “buses” for quite some time. It’s a spiritual bus or an ark of safety, protection, and refuge under His wings.
This message is for those with eyes to see and ears to hear for deep calls to deep.
MARK 3:33 But He answered them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brothers?” 34And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! 35For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.”
MATTHEW 10:5 These twelve Jesus SENT out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. 6BUT GO RATHER TO THE LOST SHEEP of the house of Israel.
MATTHEW 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
NUMBERS 7:7 And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the THREE HUNDRED men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand: and let all the other people go, every man unto his place.
ACTS 2:1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4And THEY WERE ALL FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
MATTHEW 10:1 And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them POWER over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease
ISAIAH 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, WHOM SHALL I SEND, and who will go for us? Then said I, HERE AM I; SEND ME.
ISAIAH 42:1-7: BEHOLD MY SERVANT, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. 2He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. 3A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. 4He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. 5Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: 6I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and GIVE THEE FOR A COVENANT OF THE PEOPLE, for a light of the Gentiles; 7To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
ISAIAH 49:8-9:8 Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, AND GIVE THEE FOR A COVENANT OF THE PEOPLE, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; 9That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.
REVELATION 11:12 And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them.
ISAIAH 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called TREES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
MARK 8:22 Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him, and begged Him to touch him. 23 So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything. 24 And he looked up and said, “I see MEN LIKE TREES, walking.” 25 Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly.
ACTS 4:34 Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, 35and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.
1 CORINTHIANS 2:14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But WE HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST.
ISAIAH 55:10 For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and returns not there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing FOR WHICH I SENT IT. 12 For you shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
REVELATION 14:4 These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb.
ISAIAH 54:1 Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD.
EPHESIANS 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14 Therefore he says, Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.
PSALM 42:7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.

The Lord began drawing Dana to Him about six months before she was saved. By January of 2015, the urgency to make a decision about God was so strong, that it was all she could think about, but she was clueless how to even get saved. One day in her bedroom, she cried out to God telling him she really wanted to be saved, but she didn’t know how. Then she had the thought, maybe she could Google it. And that’s what she did. She found instructions on the Internet and said the Salvation prayer out loud.
In 2017 the Lord led her 600 miles away from her family, friends and home to a place she had never been and did not want to go – Missouri. Then in April of 2019 the Lord gave her a vision of a woman sitting at a desk, writing on paper. That’s when she knew He wanted her to write, but what on earth could she possibly write about? Then in July of 2020 the Lord gave her a vision of an eyebrow pencil outlining a woman’s eye. She interpreted that to mean “I OUTLINE”. And that is exactly what He did. And that’s how the Lord got her to pick up her pen.
