As I was meditating on some things regarding my work, the Holy Spirit showed me a correlation between the types of people I meet on my job and Christians. When I was done, He spoke to me, “Tell my people to invest in Me, and they will reap mighty rewards. Events will happen this year, and those who have fully invested in me will reap a mighty harvest.”

In my line of sales, I have discovered there are four types of people who walk onto my lot:

First, there are those who are serious about buying or renting to own our product. They are seriously interested in the features, warranties, quality, and a reasonable price.

Second, there are those whose interest is strictly based on price. They don’t care about quality, features, or warranties, just give me the lowest price possible. They already have a price set in their head with only a small margin of error. If they don’t find their price here, they become price browsers, searching for the same product until they find it for the price they had in their head. If they cannot find it for that price, they refuse to ever buy it from anyone.

Third, there are those who want the product fast and temporarily. The price really isn’t an issue, they just need it ASAP, and they only plan on using it for a short time. A portion of people in this group rent it because they know at some point they will stop paying their monthly bill and hope it doesn ‘t get taken away from them. For them, investing was never long term, only short term.

Fourth, there are those who I call fakers and spousal sabotagers. They come like hell or high water refusing to buy before they even show up on the lot. The only reason they are even there is because their spouse or someone else dragged them or sent them. They don’t want to argue, explain, or suffer any consequences for not wanting to go and buy. They hope the person who dragged them there will see the price and back out, getting them out of the woods, but when they realize the person is very serious about purchasing, they become the faker/sabotager, trying everything in their power to prevent them from buying. Some will even come right out and make it known they are not buying.

I am finding these same four types of people when it comes to salvation.

First, there are those who take their salvation and the things of God seriously. They want a quality relationship with God, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit. They are looking for a long term investment in God.

Second, there are those who come to God expecting certain things to happen in their head. When they realize it is not what they expected, they no longer want anything to do with the Christian faith. They are no longer interested in buying it.

Third, there are those who only want God for a short period of time. (Going through a disease, no job, no finances, no food…etc) Just like when the Lord Jesus healed the ten lepers (Luke 17:11-19). They all begged for prayer, healing, and deliverance, but once they got it, nine of them wanted nothing to do with God. Only one of them came back to thank Him. Some people make promises to God, knowing all along they are not intending to keep them.

Fourth, there are those who are fake professing Christians. They will do everything in their power to sabotage another person ‘s walk with God. They were never really looking to be saved, they just didn’t want to have to argue, explain, or suffer the consequences for not going along with it by not being a Christian.

God is very serious about people making an eternal investment in His kingdom. Now more than ever, God’ s kingdom needs workers and finances. Satan is outspending us on average 10,000 to 1. If you are getting fed by a ministry, please learn to be a giver. Many of us muzzle the ox feeding us and then pass it off as God will provide, but it is a sin to ask.

As my Pastor has been saying for years, “Are these true laborers not even worth a dollar a day? Many will give fast food and coffee more than a dollar a day, but will cry foul when it is time to give to God’ s kingdom.”

God is a God of practical wisdom, as well as spiritual wisdom. Try going down to the electric company and start speaking in tongues and tell them, “I am no longer paying my electric bill. Jesus paid it all.”

I guarantee if the electric company does not get your money by a certain date, they will send someone by your house singing Teddy Pendergrass, “Turn Off the Lights,” and you will no longer have electricity. If you want to see the kingdom grow in your life, learn to invest in God. Those who do will reap mighty rewards.
