On January 10, 2017, I had a very strange dream. I feel there is something to this but it is certainly full of symbolism and will take a lot of prayer to determine what the interpretation is.

I dreamt I was working for the Pope. I wasn’t part of the clergy, but was part of a work crew that helped organize events; setup, takedown and security.

I was in an area that is hard to describe. It was night. There was a small, old church building in the middle, like something you would see in a small English village (very small, made with old stone). To the east of the church was a large courtyard (maybe 75’ wide and 150’ long, the length of the church) with cobblestone pavement. To the east of that was a brick wall, maybe 6’ high, and to the east of that was grassland that faded off into darkness. I couldn’t see very far to the east, only a few yards. There were bleachers and chairs in the courtyard, set up for the event. To the north was a large open area of hills that went on and on. There was a wide sidewalk (maybe 10’) that wound northwards towards the hills and off in the distance was the lights of a city. To the west of the church was a small, shady and grassy path that went around the backside of the church but it was very dark and undescriptive. To the south was the front of the building, which I remember being very shady and having one large door.

We were getting ready for an event and the Pope was going to be meeting a lot of important people; many hundreds. He would be sitting in a new chair that had been specially made for him for this event. It had been completed for some time and had been in storage and this was the first time he was using it. I was standing on the south side of the building, more towards the southwest corner. The chair was already set up for the Pope as he arrived. It was placed on the southeast corner of the building, almost right next to the building, facing north (A very odd location for him to be receiving an audience). He sat down and began to have his audience with the crowd that had assembled. From where he was sitting, I could not see him, only the back of the chair.

As I stood there waiting for the event to end, I noticed a wasp or hornet flying around. It was no ordinary wasp. At first I thought it was a bald faced wasp but this one was much bigger, about the size of a giant Asian hornet (or larger); about half the length of my hand. Then I noticed another, and another. I looked over to the back of the Papal chair and realized the hornets had built a large nest into the back of the chair. I could see them flying in and out of the grooves built within the chair (like bees flying in and out of a hive).

I knew these wasps were very dangerous and that I had to evacuate the area in order to kill the infestation. I walked around the path on the west side of the building and explained what needed to happen to a member of the security team. By this time, wasps were flying all around the chair but nobody was noticing.

I started yelling “Can I have your attention please?”

People instantly started to panic. I didn’t even have time to tell them what was happening. Panic ensued. I remember thinking it was very odd that people were freaking out when I hadn’t even described the problem. It was instant panic.

I was trying to keep them calm and explain that they needed to leave the area until we exterminated the nest. There were families and business people, many hundreds. I asked them all to follow the sidewalk and move to the large open area to the north. Many listened to the instructions and followed the sidewalk towards the lighted hills to the north, away from the church and the wasps. Some ran, some walked briskly but all eventually left the courtyard.

Almost half the people wouldn’t follow the sidewalk towards the lighted hills to the north. Instead, they scrambled and jumped the wall, disappearing into the darkness.

As I approached the Pope, I remember feeling very nervous as I had just totally disrupted this very important event full of important people. I thought I was going to be in a lot of trouble. He was standing now about 50’ away from the chair and the wasps were buzzing everywhere. I explained that we had to exterminate the hive and kill the wasps. I showed him how dangerous the wasps were, since I had been stung already a few times and had whelps on me (once on the left hand and also on the stomach near my belt line). I don’t remember being stung before this, but as I was speaking I noticed I had been. The whelps were about the size of a quarter.

By this time, the only people standing in the courtyard were a couple of workers, the Pope and myself. The area was clear and we were at least 50’ away from the chair. I turned to look at the chair to figure out how to kill the wasps, and 7 men appeared standing next to the chair who had not been standing there before. They were standing along the east side of the church with their backs to the church (all facing east with their hands folded near their waste). They were in ornate grey clerical garb, something that you might see in an Orthodox Church with lots of chains and jewels and fine linen. They were standing in the midst of the swarm, unaffected and unaware of its presence. The wasps were buzzing around them and they were standing as if they didn’t notice them.

I explained to them the danger of being next to the chair and the danger of the wasps and that they too must move out of the area. As I ushered them out of the area, they walked by me and the Pope, who was standing next to me, and I said, “Excuse us your holiness.”

I felt an ill chill when I said that, thinking he was not holy. They walked out of the danger area towards the north and disappeared.

I walked away from the Pope and then began discussing with a friend about how to kill this hive. I asked him if he had some “Raid” and he said he had something better. He gave me a clear container that had orange liquid in it. There was no label on the container. It would attach to a garden hose and I could spray the nest and kill the wasps.

I took the poison and walked around the north and then west side of the church along the path and came to the south side where I hooked up the hose. I began to spray the wasps and the nest and they began to die instantly. I moved closer to the chair and sprayed deeply, spraying directly into the grooves of the chair and killing the hive. I was squeezing the bottle to get everything out of it in order to kill the wasps; standing right next to the chair and spraying inside it. Finally, I had killed all but one, but I was out of poison, so I smashed it with the hose (like a fly-swatter).

After the infestation was dealt with, I began walking back towards the southwest corner of the church so I could roll up the garden hose. As I passed the large front door, I was thinking to myself about the Pope and what it meant to be the Pope (and how one becomes Pope). I thought, “He knows what the scriptures say and can quote the Bible, but he doesn’t know what it means.”

Then I awoke.

Interpretation:

It’s interesting that nothing ever occurred inside the church. The closest I came to actually seeing inside the church was at the very end when I walked by the large front door, but still, I could not see in.

I’m certainly open to some interpretations….I’m still searching.

The photo shown above of a small English country church looks similar to what was in my dream with the exception of the fact there was a courtyard to the east of the church instead of a graveyard (which is to the left of the picture). In this picture, the left side of the church would represent the east side of the church in my dream and the south side of the church would be where the steeple is. The front of the church in the picture would be facing north.

On January 10, 2017, I had a very strange dream.
