Prophecy is a supernatural ability just as healings and miracles are supernatural abilities. In fact, in order to really do anything by the word of the Lord it almost always requires His direct involvement in your life.
Virtually every time God has told me to step out and do something, it was something that I knew I could not do myself. Don’t get me wrong, there are lots of things we can do in our own strength, but when it comes to fulfilling something that God told you, (either by prophecy, rhema out of the scriptures or through other means), it always requires His involvement and His strength to accomplish it.
I have had the Holy Spirit declare many things over me over the years, but in almost every situation, as I began to move forwards in obedience, I was met by God halfway there and by His supernatural abilities I was able to fulfill what He told me to do. In the process of every situation, God began to teach me one of the most valuable things you will ever experience in your life and that’s “trust”!
“Not by might, nor by power, but by My spirit [of whom the oil is a symbol], says the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6b
The power and anointing of the Holy Spirit has met me virtually every time I began to move as God has directed me, and in the process of it I’ve been able to witness God’s abilities in action as a result.
As I have continued to step out into each area where God has directed me by the Holy Spirit, it has not only reinforced the fact that He will never abandon me, but given me the ability to trust him in even greater ways than I ever have before.
If the Lord Jesus has given you a destiny in Him (which I believe every son and daughter has one) that destiny requires His supernatural ability to manifest in your life, otherwise you will never be able to do what He called you to do.
All ministry from your life regarding the Kingdom of God was designed by God to flow from a place of relationship with Jesus. If you could do it yourself, by yourself, what would you need the Lord for?
Too many people in the body of Christ are looking at what God has told them and think it’s too big or too hard, and they would be correct if it’s done with their own strength, but God has given us His ability to fulfill what He has told us to do (if it really was him who told us).
If this morning you are looking at your circumstances and your abilities in the light of what God has told you to do, you need to stop. When God guides, He provides! He will give you the ability you need by the Holy Spirit to do exactly what He has told you to do! Apart from Him, we can do nothing anyway, so does that mean we should do nothing? No, it means we should never try to do those things apart from Him.
He who began the work in you plans to fulfill it with His power, His strength and His abilities flowing through your life! He has not left you alone, step out and trust Him! As you do, you will find Him meeting you in the middle of everything He’s told you to do, even if it’s in a fiery furnace! (Daniel 3:25)
Do you know who you are???
