Thank you, Caroline. As ever the word you gave is an aid to help us re-focus and re-focus again on our Lord and prayer. I do believe you are hearing rom the Lord. Some of us have been through a similar journey of getting to know the Lord through His word and seeing the world through His eyes – the seriousness of bloodshed and idolatry and the responsibility and accountability of believers for our own nations: being salt and light and 2 Chron 7:14.
The understanding has been dawning on me too that we the church are in the mess we are in because of our failure to pray for our nations, repent on their behalf and peacefully protest and seek God for strategies against evil legislation. Of course, the events of Revelation are written in stone, but prayer and repentance, as you say, can delay and lessen the impact of any judgements God sends.
The very fact that the weight of sin eventually forces our holy God to bring judgement is another factor that only began to dawn on me after several years of reading the whole bible right through and listening to anointed teaching and prophesying. God used the Babylonians and Egyptian armies among others to chastise Israel and He will do the same with us – God’s holy and merciful nature never changes. One reason Israel came into possession of the land is explicitly stated in Genesis (?) that after 400 years of unrepentant slaughter and idolatry by the Canaanite, God’s patience would be exhausted and the land given to the people who would have grown into the nation, Israel.
Thankfully, God has begun the process of uprooting and destroying the great evil that has mushroomed in all spheres of human activity and which is empowered by the powers of darkness who are in turn empowered by the heinous bloodshed, especially of the innocents. Human existence will not fizzle out like a damp firework: Lord will return in triumph to claim the greatest harvest of souls. He will be glorified in part by a resplendent bride but we are not anywhere near ready, so I pray that all the shaking will achieve its purpose and shake the unbelief, complacency and sin out of me and the world. Maranatha, bo Yeshua Adonai, come, Lord Jesus come!
thank you for the warning
