Today in worship, I began to hear war drums in the spirit. As the sound of the war drums were beating, I saw a fleet of Viking war boats moving fast and assembling in the ocean. There was the sense this army was super strong and dreadful.
I heard “the northern army”. Then I saw a scene like in Ben hur where the war ships were rowing out at sea. I was asking the Lord, “Why are you showing me war ships at sea?”
The Lord said, “The sea is the nations and the war drum is beating because the nations are assembling for war. The northern army is fierce and strong and on the attack.”
It had that Viking feeling of invasion and takeover.
Next I saw the Lord as the King enthroned over the nations. And He said, “Though the nations are gathering for war, do not fear, for I am king over the nations, and I hold the nations in My hand.”
And He said it again, “Tell My people, do not fear, for though the war drum may beat, know that it is under my feet.”
It was a sense that no matter how powerful and dreadful the nations that rise against nations may be, the Lord is seated over the nations, He is King over the nations.
As I came out of the vision, I asked the Lord, “Who is the ‘northern army’?
The scene I was viewing was a medieval time in the ages. Since there are no Vikings in this day, I wondered what does this army of the north allude to? It might sound obvious, but the Lord said, “Russia”.
The picture of the fear and dread of the Viking army encapsulated the image of present day Russia’s movements south. Interestingly enough, the head of a dragon was the carved imaged at the helm of the Viking war boat. This the Lord highlighting to me in this instance that the devil, the old dragon himself, is “heading up” or at the “helm” of this “movement” or “assembling” for war.
The Lord’s exhortation as I heard it: “Though the war drum may beat, know that it is under my feet”, is to remind us that though nations may bully and flex their muscles against other nations and believe in their heart and mind there is no one to match them in strength and power, there is actually a higher Kingdom that is seated over the nations of the earth.
“But I will remove far from you the northern army, And will drive him away into a barren and desolate land, With his face toward the eastern sea And his back toward the western sea; His stench will come up, And his foul odor will rise, Because he has done monstrous things.” Fear not, O land; Be glad and rejoice, For the Lord has done marvelous things!” Joel 2:20-21 NKJV
This scripture declares barrenness and desolation to the northern army and that its plans will not be brought to fruition. Let us pray that the Lord would bring barrenness and desolation to the evil plots, plans and schemes of men that would seek to bring about destruction in the nations, through war or otherwise.
