The Coming Healing of the Land & Nations

Revelation 22:2 “The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” There is a direct link between creation and the restoration and healing of nations. Revelation tells us that the leaves of the tree will be used to heal nations. Nations will need full restoration at the return of Christ which is what this refers to. However, there is a healing and restoration of nations that creation will participate in before Christ returns. When we look at the nations today we can see a desperation and compilation of challenges and chaos no other generation has seen. Therefore, the church and God’s people through the power of Christ will have to respond with a corresponding power and wisdom to rescue nations. Creation which is groaning will also play a key part even before this develops to its fullness as described in the Book of Revelation.

Before creation plays its full part in the restoration of nations, creation which is groaning itself, has to experience its own restoration. In particular, the land and the earth. This healing and restoration of the land and creation will be done by the manifest sons and daughters of God as described in Romans 8:19. There are some deep and important truths to be understood to grasp the magnitude of what is coming that will restore the land and heal nations. 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 “If My people who are called by My name, will humble themselves, seek My face, turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Most believers are familiar with that verse, however, few are familiar with its context and how it is referring to the healing of the literal physical land. It has been used a lot regarding revivals and prayer gatherings to pray for the nation and that is fine. However, there’s a context and specific timing of the scripture also, as it was a word that was given to Solomon. The Lord was speaking to His people Israel and told them if they remain in obedience, the heavens remain open, and the ground will remain fertile. But if they go into disobedience, then the Lord will shut up the heavens. And that’s what it says in verse 13. It says, “If I shut up the heavens, and stop the rain, and so there’s pestilence, and the ground does not yield its fruit, the crops do not grow.” And then goes on to verse 14, which says, “If My people” so the condition of the restoration of the land, is based on the people responding to God in obedience.”

The Significance of the Land – Back to The Beginning  

So in order to understand the significance of the land, we need to look at how God dealt with His people the children of Israel. Deuteronomy talks about ‘the blessings for obedience, and the curses for disobedience’. One of the primary blessings for obedience was; the land would yield its produce, the crops would come forth and the land would be fruitful. However, if they disobeyed, then the land would become unfruitful. The rains would stop, and then it would end up barren, a wilderness, desert, famine, etc. That is key in understanding what the Lord is saying in this last generation.

In order to fully understand the significance of the land, we have to go back to the beginning when God first created Adam. It’s important to mention that when we are viewing scripture or developing the perspectives that we have, they should be based on the Word of God and the nature and character of God, not on our experiences, the wider church or what is happening in the world. Some do not believe in deliverance because they have not experienced it. Some do not believe in healing because their church denomination does not believe in it. Some do not believe in God’s goodness and loving nature because they see the world in a mess. However, we must base truth and our beliefs on God’s word and nature and not on anything else or we will stray into error and man made tradition. As we are going to be looking at God’s original design and His plan A for man. The perfect conditions that He created man in originally.

God put man in a garden and that is hugely significant. Believers are well aware of some names of God such as El Shaddai, Jehovah Jireh, Bread of life and I Am that I Am. One of the names that we do not hear often is “Gardener”. Jesus Himself said, “I am the True Vine and My Father is the Gardener.” – John 15:1. God placed Adam & Eve in a perfect garden. Everything was supplied for them, the ground produced its crops, trees produced their fruit and everything they needed was supplied. There were no earthquakes, no famines, no flood, no tsunami, animals did not attack man, everything was perfect in the garden. God also commanded them to work the ground and cultivate the land.

So we see that God creates the garden, is a Gardener Himself and then He gives Adam and Eve the same mandate, the same assignment, which is work on the ground, do the gardening work. What was the curse that God spoke after they sinned? Genesis 3:17 “Cursed is the ground because of you and with hard toil and sweat you will work on it”. Effectively from that point forward, everything man did on the ground, the labor, became hard and unfruitful. Adam was told the Earth will no longer produce easily for you, the crops will not just come forward for you, creation will now be against you.

There was basically an enmity created between man and creation. It is important to understand the significance of this curse and the impact it had in the earth. As suddenly we now have a scenario where because the ground is cursed, we now have earthquakes, famines, typhoons, floods and all these natural disasters we see today. This is where they came from as the ground became an enemy of man. Instead of working perfectly, God gave the earth this instruction; “Make it hard for Adam now because he’s a sinful man.” The earth knew that Adam now had wickedness and evil knowledge in him because of sin, so it was given full license to rebel against him instead of submitting to him.

Adam no longer had the best interests of all creation at heart, he now had self interest and the potential to deliberately harm creation. So now the earth was rebelling against man. That’s why we see Jesus rebuking the storm, because the storm was trying to bring water into the boat, which would have killed the disciples. So we see how creation begins to work against man. God had placed resources all over the earth to supply nations so that they would not be in poverty and struggle. Now even these resources had the ability to refuse to be discovered and make it hard for man to thrive, despite abundant gold, minerals and resources.

The dynamics of the land in the Promised Land is significant. After Israel came out of Egypt, the Lord promised them a land, their own unique land. What was happening within this Promised Land, compared to what was happening in the rest of the world? The Promised Land had been separated and set apart by God. It had a spiritual perimeter that God had marked off and given this particular land, a different instruction. It was a land that flows with milk, which is about provision and supply, and honey represents the favor of God. So again we see perfect provision and favorable circumstances, just like the Garden of Eden, God’s original plan for man. It was a place where the ground was going to be fruitful and not going to be in famine or like a desert or lack rain and would be easy to cultivate.

If they remained in obedience to God, it would be fine, but if they go into disobedience, then the ground begins to go into famine, drought and the rain stops, which takes us back to the scripture we started with in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14. It also gives us insight into the moment they left the wilderness and the manna stopped. So we see the storehouses of heaven no longer needed to provide for the people of God because now the storehouses of the earth which was the crops, the food, the fruit, everything from the land would now produce for them. So they no longer needed the heavens opened again for manna to come in from the storehouses of heaven.

Manifest Sons & Daughters of God Emerging To Restore Creation & Bring in the Harvest

Romans 8:19 “All of creation has been waiting eagerly for the manifestation and the revealing of the sons and daughters of God.” Ever since the curse happened, creation has been crying out for manifest sons and daughters of God who understand these things and are walking in the power and authority of God to restore Creation. To speak to barren, famine, poverty-stricken lands and speak forth fruit, harvest and crops to grow. To speak to the trees, to bring forth fruit again, to speak to the weather conditions and make them now favorable like they were in the garden. The manifest sons and daughters of God will do this. There are a few scriptural examples, that will help illustrate what a manifest son and daughter of God will be like. They are profound examples and it will be hard for people to grasp the level of authority and power that some believers are about to walk in. It is important to know this ahead of time as these scriptures have begun to be fulfilled and we will see a full manifestation of these things in the years ahead.

So who are these manifest sons and daughters of God that will restore creation and heal nations? They are prepared believers and some have come through the toughest Joseph and Job-like tests you can imagine – and they have stood the test of time to remain faithful to God. These are believers that have sacrificed their lives to the point where they are fulfilling Galatians 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ. Nevertheless, I live yet not I that lives but Jesus Christ that lives in me.” These ones have laid down their lives to the point where it’s no longer them that’s living, they’re now walking as Christ in the earth. Christ’s hand, Christ’s body. It is a different level of Christianity altogether as the next few scriptures will help highlight and illustrate. These are ones like Paul that have counted all the things of the world as loss, so they can gain Christ. It’s no longer them, it’s Jesus living His life through them.

So while the invitation is open to all believers, we can see that there are some qualifications and not all believers are willing to pay the price and deny themselves to the necessary level. Therefore, not all believers will become manifest sons and daughters of God. It is not enough to just turn up at church on a Sunday, read the Bible and pray a few times now and again. Consequently, this is a small remnant within the body of Christ that God is going to trust with a level of power and authority like you have never seen before and I’m going to give some biblical examples to try to prepare people for what is coming. If every believer is given the level of authority and power that manifest sons will be given, it would be chaos in the earth. Believers have to pay the price of going deeper in the Lord and dying to self if they want to be trusted as a manifest son or daughter in these Last Days.

They are those who have learned to walk in the fruits of the Spirit and the Matthew 5 Beatitudes. They understand when someone curses them, you bless and they are almost impossible to offend. They have patience, they have self-control to a level that we cannot even imagine and they have to because the level of power and authority that God will give them, they will speak a word and it will happen. It will not be like what we see today in Christianity where we pray and hope for the best. We pray and sometimes things happen and sometimes they don’t. We pray for healing and sometimes it happens and sometimes it does not. This is a different level altogether. They are walking as Christ in the earth. Jesus told us greater works will you do. They won’t just do what Jesus did. Think about the miracles, signs and wonders Jesus did. He said, “You will do that”. John 14 verse 12. “The works I did you will do also. But greater works will you do because I go to the Father.” They are going to do greater work.

Elijah, Moses & Elisha – Powerful Examples of Manifest Sons That Will Bless and Curse

In 2 Kings 2:24 we have Elisha the Prophet. Elijah who was his mentor, had been taken up in a whirlwind to heaven and this was common knowledge to everyone. As Elisha is walking next to a forest, a group of 42 youths began to mock and insult him and they said to him, “Go up bald head, Go up bald head.” They were mocking him and laughing at him basically saying do what your mentor did. Now Elisha turns around to them and he calls down a curse in the “Name of the Lord” and do you know what happens? I really encourage believers if you’ve never read this before, it’s important that you read the whole chapter. What happened next is one of the most shocking and hard to fathom things that happen in the whole bible; Two female bears came out of the forest and mauled and killed all 42 of those youth…

How just 2 bears managed to do all that is a mystery in itself and shows the supernatural nature of what was released by Elisha. It is a truly shocking story with many meanings, applications and perspectives. However, I only want to highlight that this is the type of authority that the manifest sons will walk in. This is the hard to digest part but it’s important that we hear this. They will both bless and curse and it will happen instantly and people will drop at their word – just like happened to Ananias and Sapphira at Peter’s word in Acts 5:4. Many believers will immediately realize why not all believers can be manifest sons and how it would cause chaos if every believer can do this. When they speak it happens and it cannot be debated. So if a believer is not prepared you can imagine the problems. They could get angry with a neighbor or a friend and speak a word against them. They will turn up the next day and that person is in hospital because of them. It doesn’t even have to be a curse, they could just speak a word against that individual.

This is the level of authority that these manifest sons and daughters of God will have and why it’s not for every believer as not all can be trusted with this level of power and authority. Jesus is walking through them, so when they are releasing decrees and making statements, it’s important to know that it is Christ in them speaking. They are not just called to bless. They will also pull down and destroy. Jeremiah was told this 1:10; “See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.” They are responsible for pulling down and destroying strongholds of the enemy and systems of the enemy, including demonic businesses, drug syndicates and trafficking groups. The other side of the coin, which is the release of incredible blessings, will see a manifest son speak a single word and a whole region will be changed and embrace Jesus.

Another example is from Elijah in 2 Kings 5:16-27 where Namaan was healed. When he was healed, he came back and tried to give Elijah money and Elijah said, “No, it’s not the time for money. It’s not the time to receive your money. You take it back.” However, Elijah’s servant Gehazi saw an opportunity for financial gain. He went after Naaman and took the money. When he came back, Elijah said he “saw what Gehazi did.” This begins to give us some insight into the level of authority, the abilities and missions that these manifest sons and daughters of God will walk in. Elijah says to him, “Did you not know that my spirit went with you? And I saw what you did.” Elijah was home and His servant was in a completely different place, yet Elijah is telling us plainly, “I saw you, my spirit went with you.” This is a hard one for us to grasp but here it is in scripture. Here is the plain reality believers need to grasp in this last generation – these manifest sons and daughters of God will not be limited to one location.

It is a profound reality and some unprepared believers will say this is “new age” and what type of Christianity is that? People will begin to see those things because believers are going to do impossible things. It is key to remember that we have been made in the image of God and God is all present. We are not all present but we can be present in more than one place at once. It is in scriptures like these to prepare us for this time we live in. Elijah goes on to say to his servant, “Because you did this wicked thing, to go after the money, when it was not time to take money, now the leprosy that was on Naaman will now be on you and on your children. And on your descendants, and then leprosy immediately came upon Gehazi.” Again, this is the level of authority manifest sons have. If they speak a curse over a situation, like here and Elisha did over the 42 youths, it will manifest immediately.

Another key example is in Numbers 12:7-8. Miriam and Aaron decided to rebel against Moses. So what did God do? God said this to Miriam and Aaron. “I speak to other people through visions, dreams, riddles but not Moses. With him I speak face to face as a man speaks to his friend, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?” This is a picture of the manifest sons and daughters of God – close friends with God because it’s no longer them that’s living – it is Christ in them. When someone speaks against them, they are speaking against Christ. It is vital all believers understand this – God took it personally that they were attacking Moses and said they should have been afraid of him. Miriam is then cursed with leprosy by God showing His clear displeasure and the vindication of Moses. People will try to attack them verbally or otherwise and God Himself will step in and defend them – that is not a fight any human can win. That’s the way God will be treating the manifest sons and daughters of God because they’ve paid the price. This principle is throughout scripture. Miriam was a follower of God and so were Ananias & Sapphira… Believer and unbeliever alike will quickly realize that if they are jealous or do not want to rejoice in the blessings God is releasing through these manifest sons, that they should avoid attacking them or risk the literal wrath of God as we see here.

Manifest Sons Heal Unproductive Land, Economies & Water

Two more important scriptures to illustrate how the manifest sons will heal the land. Genesis 28:12 “Isaac sowed in that year (year of famine) and he reaped a harvest that was a hundredfold.” The context here is key, as the time that Isaac sowed was a time of famine and the land was not producing, but because God’s blessing was upon Isaac, he sowed in the midst of a famine and he got a hundredfold harvest. This is particularly significant when we look at what’s happening today in the world. Famine, food shortages, struggle, failed economies, energy and fuel prices increased, all the perfect storm of difficulties at the moment in the world. Now these manifest sons and daughters of God are going to be able to bring fruitfulness, harvest and restore nations even in the midst of famine, struggle, poverty and lack that we see in nations.

They will be able speak to the land and see the land transformed. Resources that nations did not even know they had will be discovered by the help of these manifest sons. Imagine how positively Kings and Presidents will respond when someone can actually turn their economy and restore productivity to their land with a decree from Heaven. Elisha did this; 2 Kings 7:1 “Elisha replied, “Hear the word of the LORD. This is what the LORD says: About this time tomorrow, a seah of the finest flour will sell for a shekel and two seahs of barley for a shekel at the gate of Samaria.” This was an economic miracle as there had been no rain or selling of produce like that for 3 years. He declared a specific economic turnaround and it happened the next day. Believers need to prepare for this as manifest sons will do this and then we will see Isaiah 60:3 fulfilled as Kings and nations come to the church, due to the power and effectiveness of God’s people even in the midst of the gross darkness we see all over the world today.

Also Elisha healed the water – 2 Kings 2:21 “Then Elisha went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “This is what the LORD says: ‘I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.” So we see here a biblical example of a manifest son healing the water and unproductive land and they will restore creation like this.

May these truths and the significance of the earth to God, spur us on to seek and pay the price to become a manifest son or daughter of God, who will enforce His victory that was obtained at the cross. The manifest sons will help bring in the greatest harvest of souls history has ever seen and the greatest restoration of creation since the fall of man. The Lord asks you; Are you ready and willing to pay the price to be a manifest son or daughter of God, in one of the greatest moments in history?
