This 34-minute message explains how the Roman Empire made repeated wrong turns throughout history as they rejected the truth of God’s Word and moved into deeper and deeper spiritual darkness. As a result, they became the primary vehicle through which Satan’s kingdom operates on earth today, causing much turmoil, destruction and suffering for many people.

Hi James – Thank you for sharing this podcast. I have enjoyed listening to these.
When you talked about the Crusades led by the Pope and the killing of “heretics” in the towns you mentioned, What about Islam? My understanding is that Islam had waged war against the Catholic world for 1200 incredibly bloody years and Catholics were fighting for their very survival when launching the crusades, which in and of themselves, the Crusades were dwarfed by the Muslim conquest slaughtering and conquering anyone who was not Muslim and would not submit including Catholics, Jews, etc
Of course Muslims were seen as heretics, and I do not dispute that Catholics didn’t just war against muslims, but anyone seen as a heretic
But isn’t the major catalyst for the Crusades the overwhelming conquests of Islam? Again, I realise there was collateral damage with the Crusades in the examples you mentioned, but Islam I believe was centerpiece and the catalyst
This video is perhaps the best video I have seen that discusses the Crusades and Islam
At 12:20, there are animated maps that show the absolute overwhelming Islamic conquest over 1200 years right up to the advent of the Crusades, but I think the content of the video by Dr Warner is well worth the time to watch as it is all directly relevant to the time period and study that you are doing

Thanks Mem. The battle for Jerusalem was the primary focus but our history books have misled us into thinking it was about Christians fighting Muslims when the truth is it was the Roman Catholic Church fighting against anyone not under their control, which is why they massacred many thousands of Christians and Jews. I would not call that collateral damage because they specifically targeted many cities in Europe and massacred the people. It’s impossible to understand the Crusades without those facts. The inquisitions provide further evidence of what the Crusades were really all about since both were orchestrated by the Roman Catholics.
James I am really appreciating and learning from this history. Thank you. I look forward to the next one. It has been enlightening
That’s awesome Gordo. Thanks for letting me know. I know a lot of people might wonder why we need to know about historical events but it’s so important because it reveals what’s really happening today and in the future as the same groups are still committing the same crimes under cover of darkness and the overwhelming majority of Christians are being completely deceived because of being indoctrinated with so many lies about history.
