In the desert, I formed John, My predecessor. He faithfully remained in the desert as I prepared him there. At My appointed time, he was released to begin to speak of Me.
Speak of Me, he did. Yet, although he did speak of Me, he remained humble and was quick to defer to Me when questioned about Me. He never presumed a place of importance so great that made Me feel like an afterthought. Never. He remained focused on the exaltation of Me and My place in human history. How I long that the church would do the same today.
Instead, what I see and what I hear are a people determined to step over Me so they can be the focus of their followers. It saddens Me to see their hardened hearts reject Me, secretly, while they pretend to adore Me publicly. Did I not say false prophets would arise? Did I not say those who preach, cast out demons, and prophesy would in fact be denied? Yes, I did. These have forgotten how I forged them in the dessert and barren places. I established them by My hands of grace.
Yet, the adulation of man has caused pride to deny their dependence on Me. As a result, their need for Me no longer remains. Many more have come through the desert and those who’ve remained obedient to Me will rise to be my blooms of love, healing, and My power in the darkest hour of all humanity. They’ve leaned on Me. They’ve sought Me. They’ve surrendered everything to Me. Some have walked away from notoriety and lucrative careers. Some have left places of mental bondage. Some have even left seminaries when they learned of teaching that is contrary to My very own words.
These will be the blooms rising out of the desolate places that many will see as time races towards the end of all things. The end of all that man has known will be no more. I will establish My kingdom. My word will create what I have said that it would in my book, the Bible.
Scripture References:
On the day of judgment many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, don’t you remember us? Didn’t we prophesy in your name? Didn’t we cast out demons and do many miracles for the sake of your name?’ (Matthew 7:22 – Passion Translation)
O generation [that you are], consider and regard carefully the word of the Lord. Have I been a wilderness to Israel [like a land without food], A land of thick and deep darkness [like a path without light]? Why do My people say, ‘We [have broken loose and we] are free to roam [at will]; We will no longer come to You’? (Jeremiah 2:31 – Amplified Translation)

Humbleness…humbleness…humbleness. Pride is the crack that Satan can use to penetrate the most devout of Christians…and they don’t even realize it. Judging others & unforgiveness also prevent the glory of God from resonating through Christian ministries.
What a great message. I can defiantly relate.
Why spend time focused on worldly things – personal treasures, personal indulgences – when we can be using this time wisely and by His doing?
I ask Christians this everyday, often to no avail.
John said He would make the crooked paths straight.
AMEN!!
Very true Ivette.
Lord, have mercy.
