In the Midst of the Storm You Will Glorify Me

storms
The middle of February, during my quiet time with the Lord, I asked Him three questions. They were similar to what I normally ask, but this particular morning, His answer to each question was exactly the same.  His reply has since consumed me until I can hardly think of anything else.

I was recounting all the Lord’s recently revealed to me personally, as well as many others, especially this past year. He’s shown His children through His Word, dreams, and visions, what lies directly ahead.

We know death and mass destruction will soon sweep across the earth into every nation.  He’s revealed terrorism will soon come to the churches in America – and many other things.  I can’t speak for anyone else, but when the Lord revealed these coming events to me, it shook me to my core.  I now realize that it’s in His mercy He’s told us these things in advance, allowing time for repentance and mourning over what’s soon to come.  It’s hard to imagine what it would be like not to be forewarned.

Something’s Not Right!

As I sat there pondering these things, a strong sense that we (the Church) are in some sort of a holding pattern rose within my spirit. Something wasn’t right.  It was as if the Lord was waiting on something and wanted me to inquire of Him. So I asked, “What now, Lord?”

As soon as the question left my lips, I heard Him say, “Glorify Me!” He said it sternly and with such a sense of urgency that I knew it was a word of correction. He quickly showed me it wasn’t only for me, but the entire Body of Christ. The following was spoken to my spirit:

“I tell you of things to come to fulfill My promise to you, and to warn you of the schemes of your enemy.  You have also been shown the Glory that shall fall upon My anointed ones, and all My provision. But too many of you are cowering in fear, taking anxious thoughts for tomorrow. You glorify your enemy with this fear, as you magnify his works.

“Fear not, be strong and very courageous, for without faith it is impossible to please Me.  I am sending you forth as My ambassadors. Glorify Me!

“The walls must come down!  Evil men and seducers have erected walls to divide My Church. This cannot be. You call yourselves Catholics and Protestants; and you call yourselves after the name of mere men. The fighting and strife between you is a stench in My nostrils.  Did I not tell you by this shall all men know you are my disciples, if you love one another? There is only one body and one Spirit.  Glorify Me!

“Your appointed pastors and teachers seek glory only for themselves.  In their desire to be needed and looked to, they stand between the people and their True Shepherd.  Did I not tell you, “My sheep hear My voice, and the voice of another they will not follow?” Your lofty positions will soon come to an end.”

“My appointed pastors know their assignment: You must labor to equip My saints for works of ministry, to build up and unite My Body. Humbly teach My sheep to listen to My voice and follow no other. Your assignment is not complete UNTIL the whole Body reaches unity in the faith and attains to the measure of the fullness of Christ.  In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a Holy temple in the Lord.  It is then I will fully indwell My temple.  Glorify Me!”

“My Children, teach even the smallest among you to listen to My voice. Do not rely on the voice of others.  Each of you must inquire of Me.  In the days ahead, everyone, from the least to the greatest, will need to hear directly from their Lord. Your very lives will depend on this.”

“The storm approaches, the winds are blowing. Do not look at this storm. Keep your eyes focused straight ahead on Me!  I AM your source. I AM your strength.  It is in the midst of this storm that you will Glorify Me!”

Interpretation:

I believe the Lord has made it very clear.  The Lord, and Him only, will be Glorified! He’s waiting on His Church to fully surrender, to turn our eyes and ears toward Him. As we do, the walls that separate will come crashing down. The whole building, joined together, rising to become a Holy Temple in the Lord. The Glorious Church, finally walking in the Fullness of the Lord!

So there you have it; His answer to my question, “What now, Lord?”  As for the other two questions that morning:

  • I always ask if there’s something in particular He wishes me to do that day, so I asked, “What would You like me to do today?” He said, “Glorify Me!”
  • Although He speaks many things to me, I don’t “post” them unless He leads me to do so. So I asked, “Do You have a Word for me to share?”  He said, “Glorify Me!”

Although she has been a Christian since the age of 22, it wasn’t until 2008, while going through an especially trying time, that she asked God what He intended for her life. She told Him she wanted her life to give Him glory, but didn’t see how it was making any difference at all for His kingdom. She asked Him to not hold anything back, she wanted everything He intended for her, and was willing to do whatever He told her to do.

Two weeks later, during her quiet time with the Lord, she heard the Holy Spirit say, “Clean your house and write.” The last few years, He has given her dreams and visions about the times in which we live. In 2011, she started the blog The Mighty Hand of God as a place to write whatever the Lord inspires.

The Muslims pray at least 5 times per day with a combination of kneeling with their forehead touching the ground and standing. And they manage to get it in at the right time every day (which is different every day). They have to get up before day light for their first prayer. Their devotion to a false god puts me to shame.

Eileen,
Thank you for the website and reminding us of the importance of worship to our King!
I will be checking out the website. Like Faith, I also have a longing and urgency for my prayer closet. I pray to learn how to abide in His Secret Place!
Blessings to you!

Eileen,
Wow, thank you for this awesome Word! The part about Satan’s worshipers bowing to him multiple times a day is an eye opener. He is the master copycat counterfeiter. And look as his obsession with the blood, demanding blood sacrifices to himself. He corrupts and profanes everything Holy to the Lord. I’ll check out the Tobacks website. Thanks again!

Praise and worship is a very important topic and one that is very close to the Lords heart. I have come to know through the Word of God and experience the importance of both praise and worship. Until about 4 years ago I didn’t know there was a distinction. The Holy Spirit had impressed upon me the need to understand and grow in this weak area of my life when I was led to Jacob Toback who has a calling on his life to lead the Body of Christ into a fuller understanding of how to worship the Lord according to the Bible. His ministry taught me things I had never heard in all my Christian life and honestly it has transformed my walk with the Lord! Oh the joy!! The meat of the message is found in the scriptures. “Yet a time is coming and has NOW come when the TRUE WORSHIPERS will worship the Father in SPIRIT and in TRUTH, for they are the kind of worshipers THE FATHER SEEKS. (John 4:23) The word “Worship” means in Old Testament Hebrew and New Testament Greek: Bow, Kneel and prostrate (lay flat on the ground). See Nelson Strong Concordance (#7812 shachah – Hebrew and #4352 proskuneo – Greek) Give unto the LORD, O you mighty, give unto the LORD Glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the Glory due unto His name; BOW to The LORD in the Beauty of Holiness. (Ps 29: 1-2 Hebrew Bible) If we want to glorify God we must learn what it is HE is seeking. “ For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.” ( 2 Chronicles 16:9) Worship must always begin first in our hearts. When we… Read more »

Ever since my ex-wife was touched by the Holy Spirit, she claimed to have the ability to see the Lord’s face from time to time, a special spiritual gift the Lord imparted to her. She could tell when he was pleased or displeased with a particular congregation or minister. We had been going at the time to a non-denominational, lukewarm, mega-church in Savannah, Georgia, that at least was very good in supporting missionaries, but in many ways was keeping God on their own terms and often limiting God. Like most typical 501(c)3 churches, they would devote very little time to prayer, and the prayers were usually just for the latest admission to the hospital or for the families of the latest admission to the graveyard. However, on one particular occasion, the minister went off the beaten path and asked the entire congregation to get out of their chairs and pews and get on the ground and kneel and pray. My wife said that when the congregation began to pray on their knees, she saw the face of Jesus actually light up with a smile of approval for the first time she had ever set foot in that lukewarm church.

Carl,
Reminds me of the mega church I attended for a few years, where every moment was scheduled. They had several services on Sunday mornings, and each one lasted just under an hour. They herded us through there like cattle. The Holy Spirit was not allowed to interfere with their sacred schedule either. I can’t imagine the pastor ever asking anyone to kneel in prayer…

Thank you Eileen for sharing this powerful truth! This explains so much to me. There are times I get this overwhelming urge to run to my “prayer closet” and just get on my face before the Lord. I didn’t know there was a distinction either. Thank you for the web link!

Martin,
Absolutely, evil can’t stand it when we begin to praise our God. Praise is probably on of the quickest routes to victory! Thank you.

Dr. Terry Law found this to be very true (power in praise) after his wife was killed in a car accident while he was overseas doing the LORD’s work. It was the only way out of the depths of his despair and it caused the enemy to leave him.

Hi Diana. The point God made to you about the Church being in numerous separate parts and needing to be one, reminds me a great deal of the dream I wrote about here called ‘Here Comes the Bride’. Things are not going to fall apart until God has given this world one last witness – and it won’t be through a fractured and selfish Church. It’s going to begin in a remnant He has reserved for Himself, in whom He has been able to do a full and complete work, and will spread out to a large number of people who are desirous to give their all to Him. This is the Body who will bear His glory, because of their united revelation of Jesus, and because they are one in Him, the visible glory will rest upon them. This is what God will do to reveal to this world the fullness of His power and glory, so that the world has a true and complete witness before the fall hits.

Back in 2009, in the middle of the night, I was awakened out of my sleep by an angel who came to my bedside with a message: “Hard times are coming to this country. The only way you will get through them is by keeping your eyes and your undivided attention on Jesus.” So, I completely attest to this word from the Lord. He is the only one we are to fear, and He is the only one we are to keep our focus on when the days grow darker. I can also attest to the phrase “My sheep know my voice” because the Lord Jesus woke me up one night, and I could not see Him, but I clearly heard Him and knew instinctively in my spirit that it was Him and no other. He told me 3 words: “Pray for India.” I didn’t know what to pray, per se, but I dutifully obeyed my Lord. As the Bible says about the Scriptures, the Lord began to “download” a prayer into my mouth and as I prayed what He was giving me to pray, I was suddenly launched into Heaven in what resembled a locker room for the warrior class of angels. These were some massive muscular dudes, and they were wearing what looked like a white Roman tunic with gold embroidery on their short sleeves. They were putting on armor for battle in this locker room. I then saw them storming out of the gates of Heaven in chariots of fire. I was now high above the Earth in outer space above the nation of India. I could see dark satanic strongholds of Saran being obliterated with the fire of the Holy Spirit where these war Angels attacked. It was about 2 weeks later when I realized what… Read more »

Terry Bennett also speaks of being hit (beat) by demonic forces, who in doing so made a mistake and are punished by the LORD.

Praise God! What good word! I heard the Lord’s heart in what He shared with you. It is very much the commission He gave me in starting our little Spirit-led school in Omaha. We are to raise up Ambassadors of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20) according to Ephesians 4. It is all about running the good race until we reach the fullness of Christ!

Thank you Diana for sharing this word from the Lord. Almost 40 years ago I was a young Christian and was caught up praising God by myself on my back deck late at night. I was standing, singing, raising up my arms and telling the Lord how much I loved Him and that all I wanted to do was to glorify Him. Suddenly, a very strong Presence engulfed me and I found myself face down on my deck filled with awe and was speechless, afraid to move or open my eyes. Then I heard what I believe to be the voice of the Father ask me in a loving “fatherly” tone, “Do you want to glorify Me?” I realized He was asking me this question because I didn’t have the faintest Idea of what it meant to glorify Him. I felt embarrassed and really foolish. After a few moments of silence He kindly responded to me. “If you want to glorify Me it will mean that you will be refined like silver in the fire. Do you still want to glorify Me?” There was no pressure. No condemnation. Just pure love. I honestly felt that He was pleased that I wanted to glorify Him as His child and He was seeking clarification from me so that I could really know what I was saying to Him. After He said this to me I seriously considered what He was asking me knowing He was saying that I was going to go through many trials if I wanted to glorify Him. I then responded, “Where else could I go and what else is there Lord? You alone have eternal life. Yes, I choose to glorify you.” I, like many of you on this blog have endured many hard trials but they have… Read more »

Eileen,
Thank you so much for sharing that! I experienced a similar incident where, in the middle of the night, the Lord woke me up, told me to sit up in the bed. He then asked me, “What do you want?” It caught me totally by surprise and I said, “I want to know you.” He asked me again, “What do you want?” I then said, “I want all my family to know you and be saved.” He asked me the third time, “What do you want?” I said, “Father, I can’t think of anything else that I want.” Afterward, I felt so foolish and selfish – only asking for my family to be saved. Of course, I’ve since reminded Him of His question, and told him my answer is to glorify Him so that thousands upon thousands will be saved. And as you mentioned, His love and gentleness pours forth when He speaks to us. He asks our permission before the refining process begins. God Bless.
