The Lord wants you to rise up and shake off the despair.

Our walk with the Lord is a spiritual journey. Every one of us will encounter good times as well as bad times. Every one of us has a story to be told that will also set others free. As Christians, the way that we respond to difficult situations determines our destiny. Joseph experienced constant betrayal. His brothers threw him in a pit and then sold him as a slave. He was then thrown in a prison wrongfully, but through it all, he never sinned and never lost his focus because he had a dream and was determined to see it fulfilled.

Psalms 105:19 says concerning Joseph, the time that his word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him. Pharaoh gave Joseph his signet ring as well as authority over all of Egypt because the Lord gave Joseph favor for his obedience. It was all in preparation of Gods plan, which was not only for Joseph but for his family and the nation of Israel.

Some of you are ready to throw in the towel, but the Lord wants you to rise up and shake off the despair. Every man and woman of God who was used mightily endured hardships.

The Lord says,

“As you continue on this journey, throw off the weights that would slow you down. Discard of anything that would hinder you from advancing. Don’t carry any baggage from the past and don’t look back, as this will slow down your pace. As you leave the past behind, your mistakes of the past will not cancel out My plans for your future. Forgive those who hurt you and release those who were malicious. I will bring restoration and I will lead you back in the right direction if you have gone astray.

Don’t allow worries to dominate your thoughts. As you come into alignment with My will, you will be able to receive clear instructions. Don’t entertain thoughts that bring fear and confusion. Stay focused and be careful not to allow anything to impair your vision and obstruct your focus. I have created you and called you by name, therefore I will give you the strength and endurance for the journey ahead.

Seek Me for the wisdom which is required for this journey. Seek Me for My wisdom, which your natural mind cannot comprehend or discern. My wisdom will lead you in the right direction and place you on the right path. As you seek Me for wisdom and guidance, I will lead you with compassion and guide you in peace through this journey. Never lose focus of the dream that I have placed on the inside of you. Allow Me to take residence in every area of your life as you walk with Me in this Covenant that I have provided for you. You will then be able to rest in the assurance of knowing that I will truly watch over My Word to perform it,” says the Lord.

Scripture References:

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. (Psalm 32:8)

A mans heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. (Proverbs 16:9)

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. (1 Corinthians 2:14-15)

The sins of my past keep coming back to remind me of my failures. My marriage being the biggest one. Pornography being the other one. My addiction to porn started back when I was 8, now 42. My best friend stole his older brothers playboy magazines and we looked through them. I still remember the images, all these years later.
My addiction never left me, even after I got married. I believe my addiction led to my wifes infidelity, which led to our divorce. In truth, I was the one cheating on her, not with another woman, but the image of another woman(en). She was my best friend, a rare and beautiful treasure from the Lord, and I failed to take personal accountability of myself and be the man she needed me to be.

I live alone now, as I have for the past 7 years, and am ok with my own company…for the most part. But my past keeps haunting my present, and it leaves me feeling truly alone.

There is no real support group where I live, basically in the middle of absolute nowhere Kansas. I want to believe that the Lord has something special in store for me, in fact I have heard that said to me on many occasions, but I feel far from His presence on most days.

I do not mean to hijack this thread, but I do appreciate any prayers that come my way,.

A lot of men struggle with porn and you can win. I have restricted my phone and put the 4 digit number in a secure place. To avoid temptation. The blood of Jesus cleanses you Sam. The past is the past,
God bless you Philip. Move forward with the Lord.

Dear Sam
I will continue to pray for you mate. A helpful verse I repeat to myself is. “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” In a world awash with sexual images and starlets who expose as much flesh as they can legally get away with , temptations are all around. You only have to walk down any city street. I fail too but we all (ALL MEN) must stay the course. Remain faithful and blot out images that can sow the seeds of temptation. Not EASY. God bless. Finding a good Christian women may be in your future. Pray and seek the Lord about this. It is not good to be alone when we know what is coming to the USA.
blessings to you

My country has taken crazy pills. It has changed so much in the last 20 years that it is barely recognizable to me anymore. I pray that you, and all brothers and sisters “down under” will not be affected and infected by this madness to the degree we are here. And I would love to visit there someday, Lord willing.

I am praying 🙏🏻💕🙏🏻 for you Sam. My heart breaks for anyone fighting addiction 24/7. I pray God frees you fully from this addiction. Our church pastor talked about porn addiction frequently & its grip on so many men that he felt it was an epidemic. With pornographic images becoming commonplace in our society, it must be a very hard struggle, much like alcoholics face with alcohol available at almost every street corner. 😢. May God also help you forgive yourself & strengthen you to overcome the challenges you face daily in healing yourself & freeing yourself from the bondage of this sin. Many blessings to you. 😇

It IS the imagery all around that triggers the impulse in me. I can go weeks and finally start to feel like I am making progress, when some advert will show up on my computer, usually for a department store or clothing line, with a pretty model, and its like a switch is flipped. I am not proud of this. It hurts my heart, and I know it hurts my Saviors heart.
Your prayer means a lot to me, I mean that. Each person who would set aside even a moment of their time to consider the pain of another is truly a special individual. Thank you.

Sam, one thing I know about moving beyond where one has been is that true repentance, humbleness before the Lord, and being still (and silent) before Him will help you to be able to hear His heart. I also know (through experience) that pressing through the climb does a higher work in our lives than commanding the mountain to be gone. Be encouraged to know that the Lord is training and disciplining you for what He has called you to do. Re-read this article again and find God’s heart for you. Don’t forget that even Jesus learned obedience through the things He suffered. Your choice daily is to continually choose to cast down all intrusive thoughts and every high thing that rises up against the knowledge of God, and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. He will set your heart, mind, and soul free. The Bible is full of examples where the LORD says Come. He goes after the backslider, the adulterer…the sinner. As Christine Beadsworth stated in her book, “Give Me Back My Wife”, How many times does the Father have to say “Come” before His beloved people will respond from the heart and turn away from their idols and self-promoting doctrines of Babylon?” When the transformation takes place in your heart, even in this quiet, alone place, you will feel His love and acceptance. He is a good and marvelous Father. Trust Him!

I have just been there myself. At times I have been so “weary” of the alone places, but God has used all those moments to do a mighty work within my heart, and has allowed me to really begin to see Him and know more of Him daily, even though I’ve believed in Him since I was 9 years old; and as my family says, I’m old! I am getting to know Him through all this, and you, too, will make it even stronger than you might even believe now! He will perfect all that concerns you so you can accomplish His will. Been praying for you…Continue to keep your eyes on Him. Blessings.

shame is the root of addiction so as long as you let satan and his demons keep the shame coming to your mind it will continue, you have authority to cast out devils( it takes practice to learn how to do what God says do) , and you have been set free but that is the tricky part. Freedom is a daily choice and you can’t not think about porn, but you can think about the word that says you’re free and the porn words have no place to hang out. Make a 3×5 card with scriptures to help you over ride satans tactics with the word of God and speak those things that are not as though they were . Words and thoughts have power. I regularly do a cleansing video to stay free . Demons can illegally sneak in and start torments again. These two are powerful sites to get free. My first time with these videos I got flu like symptoms for three days and then I kept it up and eventually the torments from shame of childhood sexual abuse came to an end and I was able to work on forgiving instead of using all my energy fighting bad thoughts.

Joy, my heart breaks for what you had to endure. While my battle has been in my mind and spirit, yours has been flesh and blood. No one should have to go through something like that, and yet it is all too common. I will copy and save the links you posted and overcome the evil one by the power and grace of my Savior. May your name be a light to all around you, and a hope for those who are lost and hurting.

Sam, my heart goes out to you as I write this. And, I must confess also to being what I have labeled a ‘sexaholic’. I have fought and struggled and fallen so many times it looked like I would never make it … BUT GOD! (I love that phrase😍) , BUT GOD is faithful who would not allow my foot to slip. I cried out to Him for a ‘do-over’, a second chance to follow and obey and in His mercy and grace, He allowed me to live for these past 9, 10 years not having sex(not even with my wife – that is, I believe, a special act of grace which we are admonished in scripture to undertake only by mutual consent but then, to ‘come back together again so that satan does not take advantage of us’ ). However, I was never able to stop masturbation. Once again, our Father Yah is faithful. Let me attempt to explain (while trying not to humiliate myself any more so than I must 😧). At our bible study early this month, we had communion. I had repented from masturbation, fully believing ‘That is it! NO MORE! DONE! Get behind me Satan! ‘. The temptation got me, once again ( I am not proud of failing our King yet again. But, if my struggles and my testimony will help just one to be able to stand against satan, then, it is worth it ). This time though, the very next day, riding my bike into town, a car pulls out in front of me and in swerving to avoid the collision, I am thrown from my bike and dislocated my shoulder. I have not been able to use my right arm at all for this time. Needless to say, God got my… Read more »

your testimony reminds me of the story of the shepherd dealing with a sheep that keeps straying from the flock. Finally, he breaks the sheep’s leg and puts on his shoulders and carries it back to the flock. All the time that the leg is healing that shepherd carries the sheep when the flock moves and gives it special attention and once up and running around again, that sheep never strays again.

There is “The Conquer Series” by Jeremy Wiles (His father is Rick Wiles who does the Tru News program). The series is being used by many churches to deliver men from porn addiction. I have only seen a trailer but it may be worth a try.

It’s not the images that are bad, it is the context. Put each image in a loving devoted marriage and resolve it in your mind. Otherwise it plays like the song that never ends. Saying a picture is bad makes you think of it more. Let each woman be tied spiritually to her husband so you don’t feel the need to steal her essence. Break the soul ties and free yourself so Christ can heal your broken heart which was the cause for the initial infection. You will walk out of it when you are rewarded in your thoughts and feelings for thinking clean. Feeling good is the power so find a way so good thoughts leave you feeling good and you will want to repeat the behavior. Don’t let the stronghold of undeserving set in. You deserve to be free and happy and cherished and you will be when you decide to receive it first spiritually and then physically.

Dear Sam, God loves you so much! He is with you in every moment and even when you struggel He is with you in the pit and doesn’t angry with you! He helps you and says: Lift up your head and fight because you are my child, my strong warrior! Know that God knows your heart! And it likes Him!!! See yourself through God’s eyes! Your heart is IN God, and YOU are a SPIRIT and you HAVE feelins, but this feelings is NOT you!!! These are JUST feelings! Not You! Understand this! Because when you notice WHO YOU ARE you win! Don’t believe the enemy that God is far from you and angry with you when temptation comes. God says to you: Think about yourself as a warrior and my loving son and worship Me! Even in the moment of temptation! These are JUST feelings! Worship, pray, fight, resist the devil, but KNOW who YOU are! Satan loose the battle at ones when he notices that you KNOW WHO you are and you can rule over him! You can have feelings but do against this feelings. Tell the Word, like the King’s Warrior! And those feelings will be gone! And you can feel God’s joy!

Father , I ask that you remit the sins of redeemed of David and open his book in heaven. Realign him with the purpose for which he was created. Forgive me of any sins and let my flesh fall to the ground. I come into your courtroom for justice today. A thief has been caught and now since Davids sins are remitted we ask that every demon associated with this theft and loss of health be brought into the courtroom. On behalf of David, I serve them cease and desist of the destruction orders and also demand that they recompense sevenfold what they caused to be lost and stolen. I thank you Father that because of Jesus we come in his righteousness and come boldy to recieve this justice and mercy for Davids life today . What an excellent reminder of how God will use the hardships in our lives for His purposes & His will & free us from the sadness, despair, hurt and/or anger we felt from these situations. We must be willing to leave this baggage behind so He can give us the strength & endurance to finish this race. Thanks Elaine for sharing this. It is very timely for me & received with significant gratitude! 💕🤗

Hi Sam,

Just read your post and the reactions from others and its so much worth the knowledge and experiences that are spoken and would just add something…
Steven Furtick (from elevation church) had a sermon about “fix your focus” and said that what you focus on becomes bigger. If you take a magnifier glass you will see things bigger when you focus on it.

I know this is key because I have some repeating sins also, but have learn God is GRACE! when we repend and cleanse ourselves we can come back to Him, and the more I build my relationship with Him my focus becomes bigger on God and the rest starts fading away.

So learn just as me to focus on your relationship with Him and your sins will fade away because you get filled with His spirit so there won’t be room for error!

We al have work to do, but it is Him who does it in us, so we need to surrender and keep the right focus.

Blessings bro, by the power of God you will overcome and he can restore what was broken!!
