On December 21, 2019, I heard the Holy Spirit say, “ROSICRUCIAN”. Since I had never even heard that term before, I had to Google it. Apparently it refers to a secret society with ties to Kabbalah and Freemasonry, whose members believe in reincarnation and alchemy. Their symbol is the “rose cross”, which looks like a cross with a rose in the center of it.
Frankly, I was puzzled by the word, but I went ahead and recorded it in my journal. Two days later, my sister sent me a package. Inside was a large wooden cross with a heart wrapped around the center of it. The minute I saw it, I felt a check in my spirit, like something was not quite right. I wondered if there was a connection between the “Rosicrucian” word and the heart cross, so I decided to investigate.
What I found was a picture of the Rosicrucian cross and next to that picture it said, “Rose Cross, a symbol of the heart chakra.” Now chakras are a teaching of Hinduism that believes that “there is an “energy” that is coiled in the base of the spine (root chakra) called the Kundalini Serpent Spirit. Their spiritual goal is to “awaken” and release this Kundalini in order to attain a greater “consciousness” or “enlightenment”. (**Please see below for the source).
Whoa! At that point, I realized that the heart cross was occult and there was no way I was going to keep it. So I decided to re-home it in the perfect place – the garbage can.
Then of course there was some pretty intense fallout from my sister, who simply could not understand why I had thrown it out. I told her that the object was satanic and that if we bring occult objects into our house, it gives the enemy permission to come in and harass us. Then I explained how the Lord says to touch not the unclean thing and He will receive us.
But it didn’t matter what I said, she simply didn’t understand. She was upset and very offended by my actions. So that was one time I had to make the very difficult choice to either follow the ways of man or the ways of God. And my choice to do things God’s way, resulted in some unpleasant consequences for me.
So that brings me to a time when I had to make yet another difficult choice. It happened in the most unexpected place – the beauty salon. Now ever since I moved to Small Town, USA, I have had a problem finding a suitable hair stylist to cut my unruly mop. So after going through a long succession of stylists, I finally found one who actually understood the nuances of cutting curly hair. So one day I was sitting in her newly redecorated office, admiring her amazing sense of style, when I noticed a Buddha statue sitting on her bookcase. What? Now why would a Christian display a Buddha statue?
So as she started cutting my hair, I sat there in a quandary, wondering if I should speak up or not. Speaking up could cost me. What if she got offended and told me to leave? What if she banned me forever? But what if she truly didn’t know the ramifications of displaying idols, then shouldn’t I tell her? At first I tried hold it in, but it was like a fire inside me.
Finally I said, “You know, I really need to say something and I hope you are not offended. And if I overstep my bounds, please tell me. In the past we’ve talked about Jesus, so I thought you were a Christian. Anyway, I noticed that Buddha statue on your bookcase. And I just wanted to let you know that statue is not of God. It is occult. By having it in your office, you are unknowingly coming into agreement with what it represents. It’s an idol. And you are opening up the door spiritually for unclean, demonic spirits to attack you.”
She said, “Really? I didn’t know. You know, I am actually Catholic. The backstory on the Buddha is that a friend of mine gave it to me, and I didn’t have the heart to say no.”
Now that was unexpected. I truly thought she would attack me like my sister did over the Rosicrucian cross. People can really surprise you sometimes.
Now the Buddha statue and the Rosicrucian cross were pretty obvious idols since you can physically touch and see them. But there are some idols that are not so obvious. You know the kind of idols that are hard to see but, nonetheless, may exist in a person’s heart. Things like money, or a job, or a hobby, or even a person can be an idol, if they are prioritized over God. I remember the first time I realized that a person could actually be an idol. A friend of mine told me that she thought that I had made a family member into an idol in my heart. Afterwards, I wondered how do know if you’ve made something into an idol. Could it be that it’s by what you think about the most?
Remember Claire Crawley from the Bachelor franchise? She’s the one who kept returning over and over to different TV reality shows, always searching for that elusive Mr. Right. A while back I came across an article where she said, “That’s all I’ve ever wanted is a man to show up for me — not only when it’s easy, not only when it’s good and fun and pretty in ball gowns and all that, but, like, show up when I’m in my yoga pants and no makeup, and my hair’s in a greasy knot. Like, show up for me.”
When I read that, I thought to myself, but there is already someone out there who is guaranteed to always show up for you. He’s that someone who will always have your back, who is faithful and true. He is the one who loves you without measure and who will never leave you or forsake you. Of course, I am talking about Jesus! Maybe, just maybe, she is looking in the wrong place for love. Maybe she just needs to look up.
Scriptures:
DEUTERONOMY 5:7-9
7 ‘You shall have no other gods before Me.
8 ‘You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
9 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 10but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
1 JOHN 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
2 CORINTHIANS 6:16-17
16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? for you are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Therefore come out from among them, and be you separate, says the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18 And will be a Father unto you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.
JOSHUA 7:11-13
11 Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them. For they have even taken some of the accursed things, and have both stolen and deceived; and they have also put it among their own stuff.
12 Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they have become doomed to destruction. Neither will I be with you anymore, unless you destroy the accursed from among you.
13 Get up, sanctify the people, and say, ‘Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, because thus says the Lord God of Israel: “There is an accursed thing in your midst, O Israel; you cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the accursed thing from among you.”
EZEKIEL 14:2-6
2 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
3 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and put the stumbling block of their iniquity before their faces: should I be inquired of at all by them?
4 Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus says the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that sets up his idols in his heart, and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and comes to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that comes according to the multitude of his idols;
5 That I may seize the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.
6 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.

Does Dana R have any other material that is available to read?
The only other thing she sent was her author bio that appears at the bottom of her post.
That’s a great message, Dana! I have been expecting much spiritual warfare regarding the overthrow of people’s idols. God bless you.
This is a great article, thank you! Pertaining to the Rosicrucians, I live in the California Bay Area not far from one of the larger Rosicrucian museums. It’s full of Egyptian antiquities – mummified people, animals, and displays, including displays that show what (for example) a “priest” home or a royal tomb looked like. It’s very creepy and I believe I once saw a spirit in the outdoor garden area. It’s a little more sinister than it looks to most people – Algernon Blackwood (an author who’s writings went from pantheistic to thinly-veiled satanic) was a member, so was Oscar Wilde’s wife. Many early 1900’s famous people joined, and during WWI and II they bought or stole as many Egyptian antiquities as they could. Today, a rose is symbolic for secrecy – I don’t know if that was true at the time. The “rosy cross” and the society associated with it are definitely occult and I’m glad Dana threw hers away. Very likely her angry sister was already influenced, this would explain some of her unreasonable anger.
