Speaking at the MorningStar Advanced Prophetic Conference in February 2013, Bob Jones shared a prophetic word for the generation of over 50’s. He explained things that are going to happen this year and what we should expect for the beginning of a new season ahead. The 8:43 minute video clip of this word is provided at the bottom of this post.
The following provides the transcript of what he said.
TRANSCRIPT:
You over 50’s, this is your time. There are two things for the over 50’s.
- One thing is you have the wisdom of failures behind you. You know what not to do. How many years would that save the youth? So I think you are a mercy and a grace to the youth. For you need to keep your hand on the pulse of what they are going to do and not let them fail where you have seen it fail before. I don’t see where he is going to let the enemy come in and bring a failure against this. For the youth are going to go and you have been in it long enough and matured that you know which voice you hear. I don’t think the enemy is going to be able to deceive you or misguide you because at different times we have gone in the wrong direction. But by doing that you will not do it again. I don’t see you going after a mirage anymore because I think I am looking at people who have gone after a mirage long enough in their life. When you go after a mirage you are usually chasing after something for yourself and your selfish ambition. You go into the desert after a mirage while the real city you see is behind you. The mirage you see in front of you is death.
- Also, if you check it out you will find that most of the bucks are with the over 50s. You control most of that. Some of you in your giving you’re going to receive a lot more to give and you are going to have the wisdom of the father in knowing what to do in financial matters. I think one of the things is you will buy a lot of hot dogs and toilet paper for those that are youth. They are going to need them. They don’t require that much, but youth are going to break forth and you are going to break forth first.
One thing I really try to get across to the over 50s is you should get a vision of being the over 100’s. I mean you are going to live that long. I have seen all kinds of people in the church that were good people and they wanted to retire. So some of them retired early and they just fished and hunted and loafed and died within about two years after they retired. I have seen people in the church that retired and got on fire in their church and they are still around and there is no telling how long they will be around. But get ready for the over 100’s. Without a vision you perish. But when you have a vision for Jesus Christ you will live forever and others will live because of you.
You are in a preparation and equipping now. A lot of it will begin to come forth this year (2013). As far as I can see the main purpose for all of these things is harvest. I see you as the first of the harvest and your main job is to go out into the harvest and gather up the harvesters. The amount of the harvest will be according to how many harvesters are out in the field. The father is not going to give the harvest that is not brought into the barn to be used. So get ready to go and raise up harvesters.
I think it is coming to a time where your calling on the harvest comes to an end and your disciple ministry begins. This is especially for you over 50’s. I think what the Lord is talking about here is many of you have been faithful to the Lord for many years. I think you were getting ready for the disciples to come forth with power. This is what I believe God is doing in the body of Christ. He is raising up disciples that will go forth and bring forth harvesters and will watch over the harvesters and motivate and direct and guide them because there is definitely going to be a harvest, an unending harvest.
When I go home the harvest will not end. It will keep going on. So get a vision for training harvesters when you are 100 years old because the amount of the harvest is determined by the amount of the harvesters. I believe the harvesters are going to be without number. I know what the first part of the harvest will be. It will be 1 billion and most of them will be youth and many of them will be youth in other nations that you never thought would come into it. Things are changing. I remember 30 years ago Uganda was the most evil place in the world. The other day, the leader of Uganda dedicated his nation to God.
MY COMMENTS:
Research studies conducted by Dr. Lance Wallnau found that most Christians never discover God’s specific purpose or plan for their life. The ones who do normally do not begin walking in it until they are about 50 years old. Dr. Wallnau calls this the age of “convergence.” So most of us spend the first 50 years of our lives doing things God did not design us to do and never intended for us to do. No wonder we experience so many failures and frustrations!
His findings really spoke to me because I was about 50 when I finally “converged” with God’s purpose and plan for my life. The Lord had shown me glimpses of it when I was in my 30’s but at that time I lacked the courage to step into it. I am now 54 and in the beginning stages of actually doing what I was put here to do. I believe the Lord has given me a second chance.
So it really rang true when Bob Jones said the over 50’s have chased after mirages and have learned from their mistakes. Now it is our turn to help the younger generation avoid making the same mistakes. They won’t learn it by osmosis. Someone will have to speak up and show them and teach them and explain these things to them. Personally, I am excited about the opportunity to do that!

I forgot to mention that I just had breast surgery on Oct. 21, 2015 and it was determined cancer free, they had to take it out as it was reproducing cells that could turn into cancer cells, so I agreed to let them take it out. Brenda L Hogue
I have been told by God that I will live to be 120 years old. Although the devil is asking like he did with Job to shift me (kill me). God is only allowing things to happen to me that will bring me closer to Him. I have overcome a threat of cancer three times so far. I still have one more operation to go to get a tumor out of my small intestine on 12-14-2015. I am choosing to get it out because it almost killed me in April of this year. It was bleeding internally and I lost 4 pints of blood, had to have a blood transfusion and was in the ICU for two days. I just need to know it is gone. I once again will not allow cancer in my body as in the first attempt to give me ovarian cancer, I heard God say to me,” This is not my plan for your life, all you have to do is refuse to receive it this is the plan of the enemy. I stood up and declared I refused to accept it and the symptoms were gone. Then many years later, II heard the devil speak in my ear that he was going to give me throat cancer. I remembered what God spoke to me before and stood on it again. I refused to believe it, or accept it. I did have symptoms though. A very dry cough and food would get stuck in my throat. I would just say over and over these symptoms are a lie and I will not receive them. It took some time but my sister was eating out with me when a piece of lettuce got caught in my throat and I started to choke. She wanted to take me to the E R but I said no, I will be alright, this is an attack of the enemy. Once I got it back together and the symptoms left, I told her what the devil said to me. Well she told my church and the following Sunday they all laid hands on me and I never had another symptom. Praise God. I believe God has given me authority over cancer. Praise God!
