We have come to a time of a great distinction and separation between those who truly follow God and those who do not. The grey area is now going to disappear in a season of God’s divine rewards – both for the righteous being blessed and the unrighteous being judged. This is so serious and profound that it is best to let scripture emphasize this biblical principle and how God has always done this divine distinction. As many will be shocked at what is about to manifest in the earth both within God’s house and the world.
Judgement Upon Egypt – But Simultaneous Blessing & Protection Upon Israel
“But if you will not let My people go, I will send swarms of flies upon you and your officials and your people and your houses. The houses of the Egyptians and even the ground where they stand will be full of flies. 22 But on that day I will give special treatment to the land of Goshen, where My people live; no swarms of flies will be found there. In this way you will know that I, the LORD, Am in the land. 23 I will make a distinction between My people and your people. This sign will take place tomorrow” – Exodus 8:21-23
As God did then with Israel, He will do now – special treatment for His righteous people with simultaneous judgment on the wicked.
Divine Protection for the righteous – but Judgment on every side
“7 A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. 8 Only with your eyes shalt you behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because you have made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, your habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. 11 For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep you in all thy ways.” Psalm 91:7-11
This Psalm promises us that even when judgment and death may be on the wicked all around, His people will be divinely protected, again illustrating the divine distinction.
Parable of Wheat and the Tares – Mark 13:36-43
36” Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.” 37 He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. 38 The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. 39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. 40 Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. 41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, 42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
There are many other biblical examples that highlight this distinction between God’s people and those who choose the ways of the unrighteous and wicked:
- Noah’s Flood – Genesis 6
- Sodom & Gomorrah – Genesis 19
- Red Sea destroying the Egyptian Army – Exodus 15
- Destruction of City of Jericho – Joshua 6
- Judgments in Book of Revelation – Revelation 6
The Danger of Lukewarmness and Indifference – Avoiding the middle ground
1 King 18:21 – “Elijah came near to all the people and said, “How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people did not answer him a word.” Elijah challenged the people of God to make a decision to follow the Lord wholeheartedly and stop the indifference. Incredibly, they remained silent at the end… In our day this silence is deafening in the courts of Heaven. Believers who are claiming to be followers of Jesus are not making the full commitment to the Lord. They live one foot in the world and one foot in the Lord’s camp. This will be the most dangerous place to be in this season. The times that are coming are so serious and intense that if believers are not completely sold out and determined to leave behind self and sin, they will struggle and some will fall away.
Revelation 3:15-16 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” Jesus tells us this plainly – that those who are lukewarm, indifferent and still in love with the world – will be rejected. These are the words of our Lord and Saviour so we must take them serious.
Joshua 24:15 – “But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”
It is a time for us and our families to make a clear decision to follow the Lord completely as those believers who stay in the middle ground will struggle in this season. The level of God’s glory coming upon the earth will shake all things further and only those who have built their lives on the Rock of Christ will stand and indeed flourish in this season.
The Key: Examine Our Lives and Follow Him Wholeheartedly
2 Corinthians 13:5 “Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith.” We have to examine our lives and ask the Lord to search us so that everything in us can be prepared for our destiny and to be a Vessel of Honor in this season.
Numbers 14:24 “But my servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit and has followed me fully and wholeheartedly, I will bring into the land into which he went, and his descendants shall possess it.” Only those who follow the Lord wholeheartedly and have a different spirit and attitude will experience God’s promises as His word promises.
Luke 8:17 “For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.” What has been done in secret is coming into the open. Those who truly follow Jesus will be seen clearly and those who do not will also be clear. The seeds have reached maturity and those who are true sons of the kingdom who truly follow Him, will be rewarded openly. Many will be shocked to see many we thought were followers of Christ were indeed “wolves in sheep’s clothing”. May we all make sure we are on the right side of God’s divine distinction and season of the reward of the righteous.
2 Peter 1:10 – “Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election.”
